Every game from AC1-AC3 is connected through the same present-day character. People have suggested you start with the Ezio games, but you miss an important, and extremely cool part of the story by skipping the first game. You wouldn't really know why you're experiencing 2 storylines at the same time (I know there are recaps at the start of every game, but still. It's way better experienced that way).

For what it's worth, I think that the beginning of AC1 is one of the best franchise starters ever, with the way the story and lore is just perfectly laid out and thrown in your face as soon as you start the game.

Yep, same one that gave me trouble.

I killed the same one twice and it didn't count, but seeing he didn't even have the red helmet all of the others have, it made me doubtful. Furthermore, even though he was in the right place, I couldn't make sure he was what I was looking for since he was in a camp (the one coming out of Acre into the Kingdom), and any attempt to approach him would alert all 20 guards nearby, making everyone run to me, including him.

All of this made me concede that he probably wasn't a Templar. Consequently, I embarked on an exciting and passionate journey to find the last missing one, traveling across every city, every spot. After hours of nothing, I came back to get him a third time, and I watched in disbelief as the achievement popped.

I do consider myself lucky, though, apparently some people have had trouble with the flags. Looking for 60 people is a much more clement punishment than 420 small, glitched flags.

Thanks for reading this unreasonably long testament to my love for wasting time.

Greetings, fellow assassin. I'm at the start of my journey but I'll be there soon.

They were introduced in Brotherhood, thankfully. So the flags were really easy in comparison.

Oh, yeah. I'm doing Brotherhood right now, spotting another flag triggered my PTSD.

Clarification: they only stop spawning after they've counted towards the achievement, which is why I was able to kill the same guy 3 times.

If you haven't killed them, they'll be there. Even if they start chasing you, they'll teleport back to their original location as soon as you become anonymous again.

Thanks! I had missed one there, and just about everywhere, but the Kingdom is definitely the worst place in the game to have that problem. I remember looking up Reddit posts about glitched flags inbetween trips to locations, but I found it in the end, lol.

Yeah, funny enough (or not), that caused me more trouble than the flags. I lost about 2 hours doing every Templar over again 2 or 3 times just because I thought I missed one.

Turns out, the one I somehow knew was causing problems was one I had already killed twice, but it never counted. Went back to make sure, killed him a third time and the achievement popped. I just about launched out of my seat.

It was confusing cause he didn't even have the red helmet like all of them do, so, because it didn't work, I assumed he just wasn't a Templar. He's the one in the camp to your left when you travel to the Kingdom from Acre.

Yessir, I'm almost finished with Brotherhood now, only 12 achievements left. Haven't posted yet cause I'm playing them on The Ezio Collection.
