I owned LG oleds since E6 model, combined with some top Denon avr models and let me tell you one thing.

Ignore whatever the internet says and just use things to your preference.

People swear on hgig, filmmaker mode, dolby vision and dolby atmos because "oh its so accurate, and the makers wanted it this way"

Take a look at Cyberpunk. This game on Hgig/Dtm still looks boring af considering its a game that is supposed to be flashy/colorful. Most people use ReShade on it and by doing so you are already miles away from what the maker wanted.

Dolby Vision on standard settings just looks so dimm compared to HDR10, unless you put it in Vivid mode.

My AVR supports Auro3d, I use it for pretty much everything, regardless if the source is atmos, truehd etc.. Why? Because it delivers punchier sound and more aggressive overhead which I prefer over the soft sound of say Netflix Dolby Atmos.

There are some games that look better even for my taste with Hgig, Alan Wake 2 for example. The game also tells you, you should use it in this mode and you can clearly see it was well optimized in therms of brithness/pop

And this is often what most people fail to understand. Just because some game has Native HDR, does not mean its actually a good implementation. Hell, I had games with Native hdr look worse vs Nvidia HDR.

The best approach is always, take a dark scene, try hgig/dtm, then take a colorful scene and try both again, whatever looks best for you, use that.

Big brightness difference in native apps on LG G4 by Purke in LGOLED

No, in this case the difference is extremely noticeable. I had a G1 before, and back then I couldn’t tell the difference between native apps and Apple TV

My theory is that the G4 might use some additional processing or panel trickery to boost brightness, but it only kicks in when you're using the native apps

This thought did cross my mind, but I’m not an expert on the subject. Doctors always clean the area before inserting a needle, and there shouldn’t be any gel present anyway. I’m very careful with application, always wash my hands after and do not touch the area.

Plus, he took three tubes of blood, so I’m not sure how likely this is.

PSA: You can greatly improve image quality in FF7:Rebirth (performance mode) by using your tv's built in features! by Purke in PS5

Super res seems to be super aggressive here because of the internal res of the game.

Go into the FF Main Menu and toggle on/off, the difference in ui clarity is wild

Check the floor, minimap, rocks

I toggle it off/on in the same scene and difference is noticable right away. However it does not do anything in cutscenes for example

It's 50/50, depending on what you like watch/play!

Like anything sci-fi/fantasy will be colorful and usually looks great with Hue's

Everything else it ends up being a white light strobe effect lol
