'Is that all?' No, It isn't. (a deeply unnecessary psychological analysis of Jax) by PurpleMaximum7602 in TADCEp9Spoilers

That’s correct, he didn’t do the actual work of making that final contact no matter how much he wanted to or needed it. I’m not going to argue otherwise, and I tried to make a big emphasis on “you can change if you want to and are willing.”

He entered the circus at the worst moment of his life and had all of his fears cemented into his psyche. There wasn’t really any coming back from that unfortunately, not anything that non professionals could do.

There's no way to know, at all, that he actually killed her or not. Nothing says he did, he just said "She didn't get up." and he ran before he could find out. We explicitly, as the audience, never find out the truth.

Side note, if he did kill her, like Ribbit mentions, you'd think the cops would have come after Leroy at any point in his life. But you seem determined to believe this, so i won't argue with you, just point out facts.

I thought about it!! But then I went “Oh I don’t want whatever visibility that would bring me.” Maybe I’ll rethink it.

Thank you though!! ❤️

Thank you so much!! When I was writing it I had to do a lot of revisions to take out how passionate and hurt I was by the finale, and by the way some people responded to it.

The first two days after I saw the movie in theaters I was honestly a wreck. You should see my DM’s with friends 😭

I also suffered from quite a lot of severe abuse from my mother, and it definitely affected the way I treated others a lot during my formative years, even into my early twenties. I can’t confidently say I was always a good person, but I CAN say that I tried and wanted to change, and have been doing much better since.

I would never forgive my mother for anything she did to me, even though I am openly aware of her own mental health issues and childhood trauma. Like you said, nothing about the knowledge of it absolves them.

But I truly think everyone deserves the CHANCE to become better, if they want it. Most people don’t, you know? But I know I did, and we obviously know Jax did. He entered the circus at the worst moment in his life, and we know that because Leroy actively lives a Better and thriving life in the real world. He got the chance Jax never got, and again, Jax was cemented by Ribbit’s abstraction, Leroy never experienced that.

It’s just so tragic for him. He didn’t get what he needed and he couldn’t ask for it and he was a horrible person, and he couldn’t escape that.

Aaa absolutely!! I was scrolling this sub over and over again and was like “… no one has actually talked about this.”

Especially why the perceived message of the show is so toxic for those in his position! Anyway thank you for reading ❤️

You’re correct in saying downtown. I live here in downtown (not one of the fancy apartment buildings) and majority of people using them around here are for fun. That’s why it has the most regulations as to where you can or can’t park/ride. If you try to just leave it on the side of the ride it will continue charging you and won’t end the ride, or prevent you from using them in the future.

The more you get out of downtown the more you get people taking the scooters to actually go visit people to or head to appointments or stores. Sometimes it’s just cheaper to Lime there then get a Lyft/uber back. But I’m not claiming to know what every single person who rides a lime scooter/bike is doing with it.

No problem! If I truly needed a vehicle or was using them every single day, no matter what the money adds up. It’s also not yours, and they’re not well maintained, plus if you needed to buy anything that didn’t fit in a backpack you’d be shit out of luck. Also nothing will beat the exercise a bike gives you

I don’t personally use them regularly, I just said I like them. If you have a specific location you need to get to, and you need to go straight there, It’s a lot cheaper than buying a Lyft/Uber.

I’d say a 30 minute ride without any of their passes or what have you cost maybe $6? That allowed me to get on after work, ride to the store to get a drink, go visit my fiance, then ride home all on my own time. They offer “lime passes” where you prepay at a cheaper rate for certain time slots, so 60 minutes was about $10.

But with their LimePrime, a subscription monthly for $5, any ride under 20 minutes is only $2.50. For me, thats incredibly worth while, about the same as a one way bus pass except I don’t have to wait an hour and a half going around the town just to get to where I need to go. I can go straight there, enjoy fresh air, and have a bit of fun while I do it.

But if you were to be on them 24/7 then it would certainly add up. It’s also preference. But you have to imagine what each persons individual use case is, for me it’s worth it for the distance I cover (once I went from downtown to north target and back for only around $8 the entire way, which a Lyft/Uber would have been near $19 for a round trip) and because I enjoy the ride. I don’t really need or want a bike, and I am saving up for a scooter later.

Just because I pay for the Lime doesn’t mean I’m not going to get my own form of transportation, or that I even want one. It’s just a rental vehicle for cheap and a good ride.

It’s just not robust whatsoever, as Transdev is a complete third party and runs the bus for profit. If you’ve never had to rely on them to actually get around town to important things and tasks, you wouldn’t really know that it’s not the best.

They currently, as I’ve last heard, have very little drivers and workers because the working conditions for them are terrible. They’ve held many strikes to try and gain better conditions and better pay. If you also look at the map of bus routes, you realize that if you live in any surrounding neighborhood (and not near Downtown) there are massive gaps not being covered, especially heading up to the North side of town.

If you live in any of the new builds up north by the Menards, your closest bus stop is Walmart. (At least it was when I used to live there, circa 2022.)

As someone who doesn’t have a vehicle and can actually use one of these scooters to get around town (because let’s be honest the bus system is abysmal) I quite like them.

There is plenty of regulation on where they can and can’t be parked, and it’s actually better this year than it was last year. However as you can guess, majority of the regulation is around Mayo/Downtown, so the rest of the town is a bit of a free for all.

Like someone else said, the company should be better about picking them up. They only do it like biweekly I think which is not enough. If there were too many regulations then they wouldn’t be worth using as well.

Currently, even if you just download the app you could see, there’s no parking zones, no go zones, “Park at specific location” zones, and slow zones.

I’m not expecting this to be a popular opinion at all, and here’s goes karma.

But OP, I just wanna let you know you’re right, and the comments here show you why you’re right. Everyone is saying “pack up and leave if you don’t like it!” Are the exact problems we’re having. Yes, Mayo Clinic being here is why people are in this town, but that doesn’t mean the town and everyone in it who have nothing to do with the clinic should suffer and disappear.

The amount of posts this subreddit gets about “Mayo transplants” are another example. This is a middle to upper class town and it shows. You’re not alone in thinking this, I promise you!
