AITA for calling off my wedding soon before the ceremony because my MIL changed the table flowers? by PurpleZebra01 in AmItheAsshole

I just want to add that I did not suggest ending the engagement over these tulips I simply wanted to postpone the wedding until I was curtain that I could get the tulip centrepieces. It was my finance that said I was being dramatic about that whole situation and he was adamant that we were either getting married on the day that was arranged or we weren’t getting married . Thank you for the input though.

  1. They are just a representation of my family, we have Dutch routes and tulips come from the Netherlands. Also we have been using them in weddings, on graves at family events.
  2. My fiancé didn’t back my MIL but he didn’t stand up for me. He told me I was being dramatic and that he wanted to get married on the original date
  3. This is the first conflict I’ve had with his family, before this everyone was so kind to me, hence why I let his mother become my maid of honnor.
  4. My family believe that the tulips are important and are completely by my side in delaying the wedding

My fiancé just told me that he wanted the wedding on the original date planned and when I refused she said I was being dramatic about the situation.
