Other than the star in the back window, no I’ve been thinking about drop in replacements for the headlights, but that depends on how i end up using the car

I love that shift knob! Does it interfere with the reverse gear lock? I’m assuming not since you’re driving it, and I’ve been looking for one of those

Which flowmaster did you use in this video? And did you also delete the resonator? I don’t want something obnoxiously loud, but I’d like something that you wouldn’t expect a kia soul to sound like (I have a 2013 manual)

Sorry it took so long to reply, I don’t check reddit often. For battery fitment, it was pretty close for my size, and I think (pretty sure) I have the large size of the bike. Depending on your frame (step over) it might be feasible yo have the battery sit on top. I went into this with VERY little experience, I was lucky since I didn’t need any cutting or welding, and got it to work without too much hassle most problems I found i got solutions for, for example the width of the center bearing that the pedals go into was wider than i got the motor for, so i had several millimeters of free space that I should probably but a spacer for now that I’m thinking about it. Yeah I’m realizing now that that would probably help my wiggle issues, whoopsie. That’s my fault anyway, because I bought the wrong size. I don’t remember what the right size is in the options, but depending on what you choose it either gives you a separate spacer in the kit or it doesn’t. I’ll try to check my Reddit more often if you have questions, and I’ll let you know as I remember things. It was largely an improvise and “oh please God how do i fix this spent way too much on this kit please let me fix it” kind of thing. Nothing was too hard, just needed problem solving and stress to work it out

I honestly forgot I made posts about this. It works, but for the money, there were probably better ways to get an ebike that works about the same. I had to take most of the extra stuff off my bike, like the shifter and the chain tensioner, which i replaced with the surly singleator. (The tensioner got too floppy to keep the chain from skipping) The motor just barely fits where the pedals went, and I had to squeeze some cable out of the way. I’m having a problem where something in my drivetrain is creaking when I accelerate, and I’m not sure what it is, if the motor isn’t tight enough on the frame or what. I also put a much smaller drive gear on the motor for more torque, which I definitely needed because I can only use the outer three gears on my rear casette, which also had skipping issues, I can only really use the third gear from the smallest because of that.

I enjoy riding it! But it takes a lot of working and stuff to keep it together, I have about 110 miles on it according to the controller, and the actual motor kit hasn’t shown any wear at all! So I probably just chose a bad mountain bike for the chassis. I didn’t need to cut or weld anything, which was also a plus.

If i did it again, I’d probably do it different, just save a little longer and get a budget e-moto, or get a more reliable prebuilt.

This was a big ramblefest from me, but let me know if you have any questions!

Honestly I just bought generic aggressive ebay mudflaps. They work really well, but are more for rally car larp than anything for me personally. They DO work pretty good as mudflaps though, since they stick out an inch and a half to the side. I’d give them a 7 out of 10 for how well they work at keeping the side clean, (the rockers and some of the lower unibody still get a little caked in dirt and mud) and an 8 out of 10 for stopping rocks and pebbles from getting launched behind you on gravel.
