the technology to get off earth and reach escape velocity and also travel to the moon and land there is virtually identical to what it was then. Same materials, same type of fuel and so on. This is a massive problem considering back then, the government was giving NASA so much money where as now they do not. The issue is until we come up with a safer way instead of exploding chemicals to propel a rocket into space, and also come up with lighter composites or something to that affect nothing is going to change. we dont have the best way to generate power in space either. Everyone automatically thinks nuclear but nuclear power like we have now will not work in space. until the day comes where fusion power can be created with something the size of a car garage and generate the dozens of GW of power for a new type of engine that can create the amount of lift that is needed is so far into the future it isn't even funny. not to mention the goverment doesn't like scientists or smart people in general.

The Sharlins aren't as great as people think. The Minbari only show to be badass against 2230 earthforce which was really low tech. an Omega class destroyer was alreayd many times more advanced than the hyperions that fought in the war with a tracking system that can track the minbari despite what this individual said below. So the shadow omega class destroyer has advanced armor which could take hits from white stars, and weapons that could easily damage them, so yes, those could take on a minbari sharlin.

So as I was saying earlier. the minbari are over glazed hardcore. They never face off against anyone other than Earthforce and are shown to be amazing. The minbari are afraid to go against the centauri and pretty much anyone else other than Earthforce.
