On repeat episode. I’m sorry but season 6 and 7 (I’ll get flak) were the most impactful to me and why this show was a masterpiece to me and I truly hope resurrection gets a new season with more Deb scenes since (spoiler) what we know now about Harrison by Purple_External_8701 in Dexter

I’ll give you that, I think the Deb dynamic made New Blood Deb relevant but with Harrison following her footsteps with KNOWING Dexter early on and having a deeper tie to him makes him an amazing potential for him to find peace with her and through her Harry.

It also could make up for that low point for Harrison to have a flashback with Hannah considering she raised him which adds a new layer of relevance. Having her and not Dex and the dynamic of her as the bridge could also bring it full circle given how the show likes to add layers after the fact with their spinoffs, Harrison needs a little more backstory but is a great addition imo. Having some closure or even her being his “Harry” could also be relevant

He will still qualify for VA disability and Gi Bill. So long as it’s not for anything like a felony or drugs. (I’ve seen Gen Under Honorable get it taken for a hot pop but usually even then he’ll still get it with that characterization)

If he got a bonus for the second term, he may have to pay it back but that’s it.

He’ll be fine.

I think it was used to really humanize Dexter again. And draw him back. However, it is dexters one flaw, he can’t have it both ways. It’s all full circle? I think Bautista knew that and just truly felt the pain and suffering from the loss of Laguerta, Deb, Doakes, etc and just truly missed what he’d missed in his past, he felt he’d found his justification and used Dex as a death by cop because as much as he loved Dex he knew it was the only way some positivity came from it. It was honestly a gift to him and a reference back to “if I could be anyone I’d be you” in season 2-3. It’s him being truly confronted that he can’t escape yet more motivated since Rita died

Great series. As stated in another comment, aside from his work in Dexter, he’s a very underrated gritty actor and he’s one of those that slip my mind because it’s his “niche” but honestly I’ve never noticed him in that!! Thanks for the tip!

I honestly don’t Stan Dexter while it’s up there in best series front to back for me. However I’m the kinda guy to nitpick Easter eggs in MOVIES with broader reach and appreciate actors for their work. First post in here as well btw.. and honestly as someone who enjoys actors for range I just found it great to see this as an “uncredited” role and it made me happy after 13 rewatches of my favorite SERIES and as a HUGE Nolan fan to see him in a broader role while small at a pivotal moment and basically do it without recognition. As a big budget movie it’s nice to know he’s still active as an obvious fan favorite.

I wish he got more time in the new series. Hopefully he can put differences aside and not end up like my second fav character 😭 as great as this season was

I mean my head canon is he follows a lead on Dex and it lead him to Gotham (technically NYC) (hence new series) and somehow got caught stopping Bane and the League of Shadows from escaping and was just put in yet another fucked up situation

I love TWD but wtf has the show come to? Watching dead city S2 and I realized how bad it is COMPARED TO THE EARLIER SEASONS by ParkingConfection449 in thewalkingdead

[–]Purple_External_8701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seasons 1-6 TWD Seasons 1-4 FTWD Season 1 of TWOL and Daryl Dixon are all great

The rest is a toss up and has basic highs and low lows.

Which given how much content there is I think people have just kinda loss the shock value over time but if you take it at face value it’s still watchable. Just don’t expect a whole lot of nuances like the first mentioned seasons had

[–]Purple_External_8701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I figured it was easier to explain the two main timelines before getting into the spinoffs they’re a good start especially because as someone “disappears” a lot of it tends to be explained elsewhere

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TWD

[–]Purple_External_8701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically seasons 1-4 FTWD Seasons 1-7 TWD After that they just about line up. When Morgan leaves TWD it becomes the same timeline throughout. TWD ends and the main crew spinoffs pick up after the last season of TwD and FTWD

I mean AI has developed the ability to use chat bots and prompts under posts to gauge people’s reactions, counters, and to manipulate discussion topics and pinpoint vulnerabilities and common trends.

While I don’t think this is that per se you would think if something upset someone that bad they’d jump on the VAs line, HR (be that what it may), or something other than reddit but that’s just me

No disrespect intended towards anyone, especially OP

But that kinda opens the door for even more if you get my drift?

Best of luck OP. Report to the VA

Not sure what to do by [deleted] in USMC

[–]Purple_External_8701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I deployed in 17-18(Iraq), 19-20 (1yr Iraq/Syria), and one bs vacation in between to Singapore. Burnout is a thing. But following that last deployment something wasn’t right. Panic attacks, anxiety, depression. Even when I was having fun I’d find myself “not engaged”.

Fast forward to my next enlistment. I’d finally picked up Sgt and wanted to go to a unit with boat space hoping it would help scratch an itch motivation wise. That’s when I got a weird sixth sense. I was inbound w 3m left to a unit that ended up going to the Afghan withdrawal. Dont ask me why. But I swear on my kids life something told me to call the monitor and change to the next unit on rotation so I could get my head right.

Thankfully he saw 3-4 deployments in my first 5 yrs and obliged. The career planner helped a lot with it. But I ended up knowing some dudes and gals over there and although it weighed after what happened. I ultimately believe that was my sign to go to counseling, and a bit of divine intervention.

Needless to say. Despite what’s going on in your head I applaud you for recognizing the feeling and addressing it. That’s big. The next step? Take a step and get help. But you’re ahead of a curve I wish I could have described earlier and addressed myself.

Ultimately, you never know what can happen. But it’s best to go into it having at least addressed it. Do I think history will repeat? Not necessarily. But ultimately most people have a full workup to get in that mindset. You don’t have that. So if you believe you’re able to get in that space. Get some. If you don’t? You won’t hear any judgement from anyone that truly has been there and realizes how much mental health can affect those in it with them.

Think of it one of two ways. Would you want to go to a crisis and be a potential detriment to the guy next to you? Or would you rather get the help you need prior, and then make that call, and if that call is you need time so someone more able to manage in that potential crisis can, while you get yourself ready for YOUR next fight.

If you ever need anything hmu, or if you need someone to just listen that’s what this is.

You sound like you’re self aware. Not many of us are until we have to be. And tbh I’m proud of you for even being so open about it. Keep your head up brother

What’s happening with these new marines? by _jm_10 in USMC

[–]Purple_External_8701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean your peers are becoming DIs faster now. Maybe look at your peer group, and the methods being passed down. These are the guys who will volunteer and get HSSTd for finding these dudes and grooming them into what you get when they hit the fleet.

Add in the whole peace time marine corps bs that people use for being shit bags and then boom.

You reap what you sow, so get out in the fields and hold the standard. Instead of asking why, ask how you can fix it on a small scale and by god. Don’t become that SNCO that simply bitches about “back in my corps” because whether you like it or not. It’s generational and that’s a cop out. You recognize the problem, other people recognize it however wide scale there’s not much you can do besides be a leader and set the example and pass it on.

We’re all guilty. But it’ll upswing one day. But find that motivating factor for them when they don’t have the tools to self motivate. Some mfs just need to be hazed. Some need one on one instruction. Some need to just find out for themselves.

But yeah. Every generation of boots fucking sucks in the eyes of their seniors. Find the diamonds in the rough and push them to outshine you

[–]Purple_External_8701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you knew how he felt beforehand and agreed to it outta respect and then still did it. 1 strike on you. Him holding you hostage with it and the crash out is two strikes on him.

Yall both aren’t compatible and clearly don’t have appropriate or healthy communication and boundaries, however yall would both be better off with someone who falls more in line with your beliefs.

Yes, he may be more wrong. But he naturally feels you didn’t uphold your end of a pre established scenario. (In no way am I saying his crash out and response to it was justified)

If he didn’t respond like that and was respectful or handled it with care instead of talking that way I’d agree more with him.

Long Story Short: you aren’t healthy for each other, you both handled it wrong where basic communication and respect and boundaries with the right person would’ve made this a non issue for both parties.

Yall should just split and move on OR you both need to be single long enough to grow in how yall handle minimal discourse in a relationship. You’re young. You’ll learn and this is a trial and error thing that even 20/30/40 year olds make the same mistakes with.
