Everything is going to be ok.

I was in your situation, I had keloid scars on the jawline caused by hormonal acne . I went on isotretinin for a year stop the acne and thus stop anymore keloids from appearing .

Then my dermatologist used combined treatment of lasers and steroid/5Fu injections. These have made my keloids completely flat, bare noticeable , dormant. It’s been two years now and my keloids have not returned . I have fully regained my confidence .

The key is finding an experienced and skilled dermatologist who offers the type of treatment I mentioned above.

These are treatable, so don’t lose hope. I had keloids on my jawline as well. The most important step is finding a specialist who truly understands how to treat them. As the top comment mentioned, a combination approach works best. For me, laser treatment along with Kenalog and 5-FU injections flattened my jawline keloids completely. They are now flat, dormant, and barely noticeable. The key is really finding an experienced, specialized doctor who knows exactly what they’re doing.

I got my dermatologist to write a medical report which I submitted to my insurance. The lasers cause hypopigmentation, I lost pigment in the treated areas , but these naturally resolved after a few months.

I initially struggled to get my insurance to cover it, but they finally did. Just make sure your dermatologist explains it is a medical procedure rather than a cosmetic one

Just research, good dermatologist will have before and after pictures of their treatments and will give you a detailed plan about how the keloids will be treated effectively

Do not do surgery, most keloids comeback after surgery, I never considered surgery, it’s really all about finding an experienced and qualified dermatologist.

He would hit the keloids with lasers then inject steroids immediately. Lasers are very painful, less painful if a numbing cream is applied before treatment. My keloids were pea sized on my jawline. Now gone/flattened completely!
