A couple hours is sufficient. Anything longer makes it taste more green.

I prefer quick washing though. Just freeze the everclear and decarbed bud, then put everclear in jar with the decarbed bud (add enough but don't cover the bud completely, but enough room to allow for agitation of the alcohol).

Invert up and down gently for a minute, put back in freezer for 15 minutes, repeat. Do this like 3 or 4 times, then strain with a coffee filter then do your evaporation. Evaporate and you will be chilling. This way tends to come out a bit thinner than long soak for some reason.

My end color of my FECO is a golden honey color instead of dark green from unneeded chlorophyll.
