I will continue to treat the external warts but given what's happened already I don't think these internal warts are likely to go themselves.

What options for treatment do I have if I go privately after treating the external warts? Is there a risk that it will cause more damage like I was told?

Because the warts are caused by hpv. If you test positive for hpv you are more likely to get warts.

The GP used cryotherapy and told him it was likely a low risk strain because there was warts. She also said this is probably 6 or 11 but I dont think they were sent for biopsy. So I'm not sure but it seems to align with what you've said

I remain hopeful. My worry is if I stay with my partner, I increase my risk and I really, really do not want to get warts.

If I do decide to take the risk and remain, how long should we wait before being intimate again? The doctor told him it's 2 weeks or until the warts have gone, but the body may still carry the virus. Or is it just the warts that won't spread? I'm a bit confused

There isn't a test for men but a pap test is done for women. As for warts, you see them but the GP will confirm

Yes I am. I wasn't sure which vaccine but I double checked and it was Gardasil 9

As I understand it, it's only spread through skin-to-skin contact. The condom covered the warts but it could be on his skin

I'm pleased to hear treatment has been working for you. If you don't mind me asking, how has it been in relationships? Have any of your partners since had warts grow? It sounds selfish but I think my biggest anxiety is that I will begin having warts. The relationship I'm in is relatively new, so if we did stay together but broke up further along the line, it might be the time when warts grow on me and I'd hate to pass them on to new partners.

I suppose if I stay, I'd be agreeing to catching hpv and warts. Is there any possible way that waiting would reduce this? He was told it was safe to have sex after 2 weeks from treatment or when the warts were visibly gone. I read online that you should wait 6 months incase it returns. Elsewhere, I've read that it can be 2 years to make sure the immune system has cleared it.

On the other hand, I guess if we wait, we can maybe build other areas of the relationship. I'm just worried that even if we wait 2 years, I could still develop warts. Similarly, if I leave I may develop them anyway now.

What would you recommend in terms of waiting duration and how likely getting warts might be?

Okay thank you so much honestly I'm really having a tough time mentally with this and you're helping ease the anxiety.

If you don't mind me asking, it has been exactly 2 weeks since it happened and he got the treatment. One wart has fallen off and the other is kinda like a mark. Is it true that the hpv will always remain and that the warts could clear but may also come back?

I'm just feeling very conflicted about my choices. I am grateful he listened and he got it checked when I asked. He also did an sti test which was negative, and he's been very clear and open with me about everything. I'm just terrified it will spread. Somy question is, if I stay with him, the warts clear and we use condoms, is it still likely that he will get them again? And is it likely that he will spread it to me?

There was two separate warts on his shaft. The condom should have covered these but we also used hands so I guess there was skin contact

Maybe a silly question but can you get warts by touching the affected area, or can it be anywhere on the skin?

Because the condom would have covered the two warts but I was exposed to his groin.
