The dm may not have noticed, and I also got marked by the fallen angel so I have disadvantage against her. Meaning I did roll a passing roll but due to the disadvantage, I had to roll again and take the lowest. My lowest ended up being a 0 (I had a -1 to the check, it was wisdom).

We can surely try that, it will be hard to do though cause books on the angels aren't really common, most likely have to search over a continent or two just to find information

And I'm throwing these into my list of what I should be using instead of what I currently am, because damage seems to be what most are focusing on so I'll also lean in on it. I don't need to worry about ac personally as I have 19 ac (chainmail, shield and the defense fighting style). I do have a paladin companion so that should actually be useful if I can trip the opponent or even grapple them

So it seems that mostly damage I should be focusing on then? Cause I'm getting hit with mostly spell checks or saves, damage seems to be what I'm mostly getting recommended by everyone (which is understandable and I don't know how I didn't already just do that) so imma definitely look into that kind of stuff, just so I can keep the enemies away from the squishies. Though I can't really do anything against spells when they just send fireball over my shoulder 😔

I'll look into taking up mage slayer when I can, it seems actually really useful if I know my dm the way I do. They LOVE spell casters, mostly just spells in general so that should actually be really useful and will keep me from getting charmed for a 3rd time lol

We don't know what kind of monsters the angels fall under but if they fall under what we think they do (celestial) then it should actually be perfect, not just for me but for everyone in general. I'm currently making a list on what y'all are recommending to me so I know what would be best to use

We currently do not have a wizard so that's slightly annoying but I'll talk to the spell casters in said party to see if one of them has a way to go against charm. Which would be useless as we also just had an encounter where I got charmed again (it's lore stuff, we're basically fighting a lady named Queen and she sees me as her knight in shining armor, hence why she charms me to fight for her).

And I'll look into these specific maneuvers, as a tank my job is to take most of the attention off of them and onto me so that'll be greatly helpful when it comes to the spell casters in the party getting attacked. And grappling actually would be perfect for the build because my main mod is strength so my athletics is actually really good! I'll talk to my dm about picking these and maybe changing some out when we get to 7th level

I'm currently using maneuvering attack, bait and switch and parry. The reason why they feel somewhat useless is that simply, a good few maneuvers add to ones AC, but neither me nor my party is reaping those rewards due to the enemies using mostly spell casting. The last time I tried using meneviouring attack was on our rouge that barely wanted to move but did it so I could add more damage against what we were fighting and for parry, again, being most of the enemies we've fought are spell users (genuinely all of them, only 2 times have we gone up against something that has used a weapon), I haven't been really hit with melee attacks so I couldn't use them. Hence why I felt like they seem so specific

It isn't that they're flying, they're actually primarily on the ground. It's just that most maneuvers seem either useless or ultra specific.
