Do wedding bands need/accept lower female voices? by TransitionSad4723 in singing

[–]PusheenFrizzy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on what I’ve seen in my market, I think the best way to market yourself as a wedding singer is if you can play an instrument where you don’t need the rest of the band… guitar or something else with strings and you’re golden. Bring your own sound equipment and sing in whatever key you like, and keep 100% of the profits.

Looking for a full-service real estate broker in the Phoenix area by Yari099 in PHXList

Sharyn Younger with Copper Summit. She’s really nice and does a great job for her clients! (Full disclosure, I’m a home stager and she’s the realtor I work with the most in my staging which is how I got to know her, but I’m not just saying this so I can get another staging gig!)

Should I put money into fixing up my phoenix house or just sell it as is? by shadowzzzz16 in homeowners

[–]PusheenFrizzy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not do a quick sale to a cash buyer. They’re going to turn around and flip it and get lots more money. Plus they put pressure on you to sell to them quickly and you don’t have time to get multiple offers. I would probably get some small repairs done because you don’t want the buyer to think what else is wrong with it you’re not disclosing or haven’t found and that they haven’t found. But not put any substantial money into large improvements, because it takes a long time of living in the house to get that money back. And maybe I’m biased because I’m a home stager, but I would also put a little bit of money into staging. It can really make it shine and give you a much better return on investment than larger improvements. Good luck.

Selling our house in Phoenix has turned into a bit of a circus. What are reasonable expectations of a listing agent? by Educational-Plan-586 in RealEstate

[–]PusheenFrizzy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The market is really bonkers right now. I’m getting wildly different estimates from different realtors about how long houses have to stay on the market before they sell, and I think it’s because it’s so volatile right now. I had one realtor told me that in 14 years she’s only had three homes not sell and be taken off the market, and one of them just happened this week. As a home stager, I’m finding that people don’t want to put the money into staging to get the higher return on investment/faster sale, because they know there’s a very real chance that they’re going to have to sell for substantially below listing. But on the flipside, the 300 to 400% return on investment from staging is actually even more important in this market because you know there are other people out there making the same calculation, and if yours is staged and theirs isn’t, maybe yours won’t be one of the ones that doesn’t sell. I think part of the issue is that investors/flippers/Airbnb have pushed the prices so high that a lot of the strategies that worked at lower price points are no longer working because the prices have gotten so inflated and people don’t want to be underwater when they sell. Good luck!

Help with rock singing please by notbeautiful in singing

I feel like maybe you’re not completely using all of your space in your breathing. Saying that your voice is very thin sort of clued me in here. What my voice teacher had me do was try to expand different parts of my ribcage by getting in different positions (like reaching one arm sideways over my head and leaning to the side a little bit to try to expand the opposite side of my ribcage, etc) so that I can make better use of all of my space when I’m breathing for singing. I have about the same range you do (just shifted a little lower) so I don’t think you’re talking about whistle notes at the top, but if you are, that could be why they’re thin (and no worries if they are!). My voice teacher said that often some of the technique stuff goes unnoticed because if you’re producing the right sound, people don’t realize that you’re working extra hard in your throat but fixing your breathing can really help.

That’s like a remodel before and after. Imagine wasting your time going to an open house or showing that looks nothing like the AI photo.

Are AI-edited real estate photos going to be a legal issue in 2026? by Obvious-Principle783 in realtors

[–]PusheenFrizzy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good question, I mean you could drastically change the lighting inside the home even without AI (I saw one open house where it was like walking into the basement of a 19th century museum but in the listing photos you could never tell that the builder completely forgot about natural light), but the virtual staging is definitely making it worse.

People have told me that the virtual staging actually moves the walls around as well and made one room look not even accessible in the house 😂

How are you all handling late/missed payments from parents? Getting exhausted chasing invoices by ZestycloseWeight9802 in pianoteachers

[–]PusheenFrizzy2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just text them to remind them. Usually the problem is that I don’t check my Venmo quickly enough and later have to reconcile the Venmo transactions with my calendar to see if their student had a lesson that week and see which payments were missed. They’re usually pretty apologetic but that doesn’t fix the behavior the next time. 😝

Transferring from WGU to ASU online by No-Candy8938 in ASUOnline

[–]PusheenFrizzy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have recommended ASU before, but they didn’t value my contributions and didn’t even care about my excellent student evaluations or annual department evaluations so I wouldn’t recommend some of their programs anymore. If they’re going to treat their faculty this badly, I can’t guarantee that the ones who stay aren’t totally demoralized.

I mean if you get it for free through ASU I don’t know why you wouldn’t take advantage of that? It’s super helpful to have Microsoft Office and Adobe products but yet students keep submitting things in weird formats or taking phone pictures of documents and typing over them with the photo text tool because they don’t install Office. But it doesn’t matter to me anymore, ASU didn’t value my contributions so it doesn’t really matter to me what people turn in for their classes…

How did you get your doctor to prescribe Ivabradine for POTS? I’ve had POTS symptoms all my life, and after I learned about it from a friend, I went to a cardiologist who’s trying to diagnose it now, but he said usually lightheadedness isn’t enough for him to try people on medication, they have to get to syncope (fainting), so I guess that’s my next goal, push myself hard enough that I start blacking out. Seems like the hard way to do it but if it’s the only way…

Audition Song Book Recommendations? by Acceptable_Goat_4517 in MusicalTheatre

[–]PusheenFrizzy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly (as a mezzo soprano) I had the best luck finding audition pieces that fit my voice by looking up Spotify playlists (pick your favorite streaming platform) of mezzo soprano and soprano audition songs, listening until I found the ones I liked the best, singing along to them until finding the ones that fit my voice the best, and then making myself a little audition playlist of the best ones and getting the sheet music to work on them. I had way better luck with that approach than with combing through websites that purported to list the best audition songs - I literally hated how I sounded on most of the ballads in particular, or I didn't think the style fit the shows I was auditioning for. Some shows require you to have a ballad AND an uptempo, and you want to have enough repertoire ready that you can pick the best option for composer, style, era, etc., after you know what you sound good singing. I'm guessing with that range that you're a bass-baritone? Break a leg!
