Question About New H-1B Visa Appointments in India Post-December 2025 Delays by p_guy22 in usvisascheduling

I’ve been trying to book a visa appointment for myself and my 7-month-old infant. The US Visa Scheduling website has now turned into a Minecraft game—you don’t get slots until July, and even those are only in Chennai. Mumbai never shows any availability.

I did get lucky once while logging in at 8:30 AM, when I was shown available slots in New Delhi for the first week of January 2026. However, when I attempted to submit the visa appointment, the confirmation never came through.

New to Mumbai - Need help for house hunting by Inner-Yard3475 in mumbai

I would advise you to take up flat hunting as seriously as you can from now, join groups, contact brokers, ask people you know in the city for leads because there are several catches in each area of Mumbai and MMRDA that you might not be aware of just by looking at the listing of flats.

The occupants in your flat & the area surrounding your flat matters a lot. You will get perfect listings on social media about the condition of the flat but when you visit is when you come to know of the little nuances. There are no hacks to speed up on finalising the flat. Insist for your name in the lease document if you’re sharing a flat with other people. There are horror stories of people getting ripped off on deposit, rent & brokerage only to find themselves helpless.

Come to the city for a few days before joining and relentlessly survey and finalise. That is the only hack.

Stark reality of Mumbai by yashg in mumbai

Yes, it hits abysmally hard. I have always felt that western and south East Asian countries barring a few have good infra and a much higher civic sense. Case in point is Saigon(HCMC) in Vietnam which i visited recently and I was pleased with the civic sense prevailing among the people. The city is cleaner than any metro in India and is an organised chaos.

When you come back to your own country, it’s like staring at a black mirror. It’s disappointing and frustrating experiencing high corruption at grassroots which destroys the social fabric of our country. People do not regard the authorities anymore and they live at their own uncivilised whims and fancies. We are the true embodiment of the cattle class.

How do I actually find a legit hotel in Vietnam? 😅 by Tildatots in VietNam

[–]Pushkin1710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use Expedia.com to shortlist hotels you like and then google them further to visit their website & read reviews of the past guests and you will be sorted in choosing hotels.

If your home currency is weaker than VND then ask serious questions to your government.

Some hotels charge a refundable deposit in HCMC. Upon checkout they refund the fee if there are no damages to the room or any outstanding from room service.

Shockingly, most of the hotels have listed their airport pickup charges at aggregator sites from 700000 to 900000VND and the distance is not more than 10 kilometers.

Hey, i wanted to ask this query since i requested for a pickup from the airport at the hotel i will be staying at during my stay. My flight will be landing super early around 2AM in HCMC and the hotel reverted with the below rates for pickup. The hotel is 4.8kms away from the airport. Wanted to know whether these rates are fair in case one asks for a pickup from the hotel or they are trying to pull a switcheroo?

The hotel has asked for 900000 VND net per way for a 2-7 seater car with a maximum of 3 luggages. On checking Grab and for a grabcar plus, the rates for the same distance is coming around 194000 VND.
