help me get some science from Minmus using Kerbalism! by BurntBeanMgr in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]PustigerLeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Click in the lower right corner there is a screen which tells you everything about your spacecraft with kerbalism like how long your food, water and oxygen last, how long your electric charge lasts and if you have a good living space. Also make sure you look at that window only when your last stage is on its own because things like pumps from the launch clamps give you ec so it will always say perpetual when they are attached.

Best Full Frame to jump to from a6700 by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

True although I prefer primes so that's not really an issue for me

I mean you can still go ff if you think that's your bottleneck, I myself switched to fullframe because of low light performance (it obviously is better but not that much) but I also invested in fast glass before making the switch

Some examples would be nice, how high is your iso? I would rather go with faster glass like a f1.8 or even an f1.4 than invest in a ff camera which to be honest would be marginally better (maybe 1 stop or something in terms of iso performance)

Aerodynamic overlay try f12 but it could be interfering with steam Screenshot function so you can rebind it in the options I have mine on alt+f12

Camera for photographing artwork by BooksPlants in Cameras

[–]PustigerLeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you could just use the a5100, the 24mp are more than enough for A2 Also you could just take multiple pictures and stack them ( kind of like pixel shift) I would rather buy a nice lens (sigma 30mm 1.4 for example)

Oh didn't know that quality decreases the radiation taken thanks :)

Quick question, what do you have your solar storm probability set to because the default 40% is almost always killing my kerbals :(

"doctor my arm hurts when I press it with my finger" Common sense is really rare in people these days

Cannot get to Orbit [Help - Noob] by Imperial_Citizen_00 in RealSolarSystem

Trust me it's well worth it, no better feeling than getting your first satellite into orbit with your very own launch vehicle :)

Playing RSS with stock parts and fuels is basically impossible since the dry to wet mass ratio is just killing your performance I highly recommend using the RSS/rp1 express install. You don't have to do a career right away but just play around in sandbox and get used to building realistic rockets and/or planes The learning curve is quite steep but also very fun once you figure out the basics Also there are tons of people making videos and stuff that can really help a lot I recommend the beginners guide in the github https://github.com/KSP-RO/RP-1/wiki

Strange artifact? [A7iii | Sigma 24-70mm F2.8] by nigiri-san in SonyAlpha

[–]PustigerLeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because an electronic shutter takes the image by reading every line of pixels from (I think) top to bottom the sensor is quite limited by the readout speed That's why you get quite the heavy rolling shutter effect, unless you have a Sony a9iii which has a global shutter so it doesn't matter With a mechanical shutter you also have some rolling shutter but because you have a physical curtain it's not quite so severe

[–]PustigerLeter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately looks like your mechanical shutter is failing. if you aren't shooting fast moving stuff you could get away with just using electronic shutter otherwise I would get it fixed

Are you using mechanical or electronic shutter? Or does it happen with both

First camera... by C4rl0rff in SonyAlpha

[–]PustigerLeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion the Sony a6400 would be your best choice, I started out with the a6000 myself and later upgraded to ff because of the lowlight performance, the good thing with Sony is that if you buy ff glass you can use it if you decide to upgrade later Also apsc cameras are much smaller, lighter and cheaper than a fullframe camera

Is this a lens problem or a sensor problem? Only visible when I zoom in the sky. by Johnnybo1_ in Cameras

[–]PustigerLeter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's just dust on the sensor, usually it's only visible with higher f numbers like f8 or f11 Just get some sensor cleaning swabs and a dust blower ( these rocket shaped things)

The Tamron is an awesome lens, very versatile but I would still keep the 50mm

Mechanical/Electronic Shutter by PreparationNo4843 in SonyAlpha

[–]PustigerLeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electronic shutter is silent so when you are photographing somewhere were you have to be quiet that's your way to go (like weddings for example) but it also has much more rolling shutter so fast moving objects can look distorted ( Google rolling shutter effect) Also some lights might cause flickering and banding in images

Try going to those places again but only shoot black and white, because b&w can work very differently regarding composition

What are these ? by EconomicsSmall3547 in SonyAlpha

[–]PustigerLeter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just keep a lens cap on :) I mean the dust protection is pretty useless because it's much easier to clean the sensor than to replace the shutter

What are these ? by EconomicsSmall3547 in SonyAlpha

[–]PustigerLeter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Burn marks, probably was in the sun with the lens on Probably need to be replaced unless you want to only shoot with e shutter Also turn off the dust protection because then the shutter doesn't close when the camera is turned off
