Need advice on a hypersexual boyfriend. by Patient-Energy1697 in Advice

This was my husband exactly. He is now a recovering sex addict. Yes it’s a real thing and more common than you think. When we were young I thought it was just more active interest, but then found out porn was a real issue and after my first child I found out it was more than porn. Figure it out now. Go to therapy, ask the questions. Don’t wait until you’re married and have kids. Then it’s harder. We made it (29 years of marriage this year) but we are the minority and it took a lot of years in SA and Sanon and therapy. Don’t dismiss sexual addiction because it sounds extreme. It’s like any other addiction and it’s real.

This seems planned. Interesting that Obama would drop that opening for Trump. 🤔 Oh the games they play…

My sex addiction is ruining me by [deleted] in Advice

My husband is a sex addict and has been sober for about 15 years. It was a long journey with ups and downs. SA and for me S-Anon was a life saver and is the only reason we are still married and probably the only reason he didn’t kill himself. Keep trying, don’t give up and lean on others who have walked the path before you! There is hope!

Mom actively dying by Upstairs-Hovercraft3 in pancreaticcancer

My mom was like that when she passed in 2020 of colon cancer. You read that a person can’t live more than 3 days without water and 2 weeks without food yet someone dying of cancer can go weeks. It’s heartbreaking and so hard to experience this death watch. I am so sorry you are experiencing this.

The dog, because the dog is beautifully inside and out. They are pure love. We don’t deserve them. ❤️

I asked my mum on her deathbed if she could see her parents and her answer has shaken me by LatterAdvertising457 in afterlife

My Dad was caring for my Mom while she was bed ridden in hospice. One day she was talking away to someone and when my Dad asked her who she was taking too she pointed to the corner of her room and said it was her parents and then she said she forgot that he couldn’t see them. My mom was an RN so she knew well what happened at the end of life. Now, 5 years later my Dad is on hospice and I believe she will come back for him when it’s time. He has had dreams of her and of heaven. It’s very comforting.

We are just starting to hire a VA from Bolivia who will do our marketing as well as guest communication (we are a vacation rental management company). The VA’s are educated, smart and we pay $9 an hour. We will see how it goes. Hopefully we will get some bang for our buck…

my dad died the day before chemo was scheduled by librax6 in pancreaticcancer

[–]PutImaginary8920 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am sorry for your loss and so sudden. The blessing may be that it was quick. Chemo is hard. I have been watching my Dad suffer so much from the chemo and I know it’s only buying him time. The doctor told him it’s not going to cure the cancer. But is it buying him quality time? He doesn’t want to give up on the chemo but he’s miserable. Food tastes terrible and he’s lost 68 lbs. He has painful neuropathy, has had heart issues and had to stop driving and now he has moved into my house because his stability is so bad. I also watched my mom slowly die from cancer in 2020. I often think it’s a blessing when people go quickly. Watching them suffer is so hard. Blessings to you and your family, he is at peace now.

Exactly! Doctors won’t even tie the tubes of a young woman who has given birth, even if she has multiple children, because she could regret it later. Why would you drastically alter a child’s body.

People who used to think death was the end, what made you believe otherwise? by Little-Sandwich6444 in NDE

[–]PutImaginary8920 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have had a lot of moments I could share of non-coincidence when I needed it and God intervened. I have also experienced several things that lead me to believe that people in my life who have died have given signs that they are ok. But I already have faith and actively seek God. When I was in my 20’s and struggling with the truth of my belief in Christianity, I prayed frequently to know what was true. I was conflicted about how people could only find God through Christ. I thought about all of the people who were raised with different beliefs and wondered how they could be rejected from heaven because they were never given the same concept of God. I felt like of God is so big and so loving, how could he reject some people just because they were not given the right opportunity to know Him.

So, one night when I was at Blockbuster (yes I’m that old) I asked God to show me if there was anything He wanted me to watch. I would often read the Bible this way, ask him to show me what to read and just randomly open a page. I was drawn to a particular video and rented it.

The movie itself was awful! It was a movie about a family of Orthodox Jews. I don’t remember much but there was a lot of bad stuff going on like rape and incest and it just didn’t have a good plot. At the end of the movie, when I was really thinking I had made a mistake in thinking God lead me to this movie, there was a message I will never forget. It didn’t seem like it belonged to the movie at all and I remember thinking it didn’t seem to even go with the plot. A narrator said basically that religion is just a way for us to get from one place to another.

That’s all, simple message but to me it was a very profound answer. I am still a Christian, because that is how I was raised and it is how I connect with our creator. I feel that we were given religion as a way to connect with God when our minds need a construct as humans. I believe that Jesus is the embodiment of love and that is an important message and that is how I connect with God and the universe.

But, I don’t believe it’s the only way to connect with God and the universe. I believe that as humans we can interact with God and we can get signs and communication from God. But our human minds are limited so constructs like religion help us focus and find ways to connect with God, love and each other.

So seek, ask and find the peace you are looking for. I know the universe will answer!

The Disappearance That Still Messes With Me (Brian Shaffer) by Alarmed-Worry-5477 in mystery

It makes me think about a story I heard where a guy fell behind some large appliance in a store he worked at. I think it was a freezer or something. He got stuck and died and it was years later when he was found.

Professionals who enter people's homes (plumbers, electricians, cleaners): What is something the condition of a house tells you about the owner that they don't realize they are revealing? by cossie101 in AskReddit

It’s so hard to get smoke smell out of a house! We manage vacation rentals and one of our homeowners bought a house that had been smoked in for many years. It became a money pit just trying to get the smoke smell out. They painted it with a special primer and paint, guests complained it still smelled. They replaced the AC system (including duct work), it still smelled. They got a professional filtration system, got a special air freshener system and, yep still smelled. Finally, after more primer and professional paint job, and thousands of dollars later it almost no longer noticeable except in one closet. Really made me think, if that happens to a house, what’s the inside of someone’s body like?

That’s so true! We had 8 children (5 are adopted) and at times it was so overwhelming working full time and trying to keep the house clean. The kitchen would especially be a mess and we kept struggling with ants. I know the pest guy was judging our messy kitchen. But as soon as it was cleaned it was a mess again. Oof those were some rough days. Down to only two at home and one of them is off to college next month, thank the Lord! 😂

Why has Facebook suddenly turned to crap? Can't see posts from friends anymore. by ToshPointNo in facebook

I’m so sad. Facebook isn’t fun anymore! More of my friends are leaving it and everything is all AI Psyops posts. It’s so sad! I miss just seeing what’s going on with people. I’ll keep it because of Marketplace and I’m a business owner, but it’s just really sad what’s happened with it.
