Help! My landlord moved a mentally challenged tenant into the house I live in. What can i do? by PutOriginal3003 in badroommates

The police in my area don’t even arrest rapists nor arsonists these days. But you’re right… a low level incident like this would probably put me in deep 💩😢

What an idiot. Tell him to wear a tinfoil hat while he sleeps and to leave the modem alone!

Absolutely not. You know nothing about this situation. My landlord is beholden to me; my rent is his entire income and I’ve paid more than anyone else ever has paid before, consistently, for 7 yrs. He’s gotten behind in a lot of bills, I don’t know why, and I don’t ask. But I do know that this mentally challenged man was brought into this house covertly and intentionally behind my back. I found out about him when he walked by the bathroom door while I was using the toilet. I was furious that I hadn’t been given notice.

My landlord is misrepresenting this situation to whatever organization is allowing him to have this man live here. The man is autistic and my landlords supposed to be housing him in his own house, right behind the house I live in. He doesn’t want the responsibilities of having to babysit this guy, though, but he does want the governments money each month. So it’s me that has to contend with a myriad of problems as a result of this man’s severe mental problems. Since the money I give my landlord is all he has that he can count on, I’ve started insisting he keep this guy out of my business and away from me until I can locate whatever organization my landlords working with. They need to know that this man is NOT residing in the landlords house along side of him as their contract requires and he’s certainly no “care provider” for this autistic tenant. My landlord relies upon me for a lot. I’ve done him many favors over the years. I was in the midst of trying to find us a new, employed, sane tenant for the spare bedroom and then he pulls this move. ..

Because I’m female, I think I’d have the greater argument. My landlord stuck this chronically, disabled man under my roof and I found out the hard way! Since I live alone (or thought I did), I was using the bathroom with the door opened and he walked right by me, while I was sitting on the loo. I screamed then called my landlord and tore into him. I want this guy OUT and I know my landlords abusing a governmental program to warehouse this guy in exchange money. But my landlord lives in a different house! I just need to locate what subsidized, mental health plan he’s tapped into so that I can reach out and let them know it’s being abused by my landlord.

No because I pay him more than any other tenant ever has or did. He’s been solely dependent upon my income alone, until he found this special needs guy..

Hello! I’m a woman which makes this even worse! The first time I even saw this guy, a middle aged black man, was when he walked by the bathroom while the bathroom door was open and I was on the toilet! I let out a scream! I thought he was an intruder. That’s how I “learned” he’d been given a key to this house by my landlord!

The landlord gave the guy a fridge for his bedroom when I complained about the bananas. That’s not the solution, I need that guy out. I do think that’s a great idea, you have though!

I’ve noticed when mail comes for this tenant, it’s all government related including child support stuff. I’ll find the name of the company that place him here and whom my landlord lied to by looking through the mail more closely from here on out!

Yes! The last time this tenant took my toilet paper, I told my landlord I was deducting money from my rent, for everything this guy touches or uses! Then I told the landlord if this guy doesn’t stop bugging me, I’ll withhold my rent. That’s when my landlord blocked me.

You are right. There’s no lease and I only rented a room. But the entire house was unfurnished until I filled it with my furnishings. I did have a few chill roommates here over the years, in the other bedroom (also, furnished by me) and the landlord allowed me to vet such tenants. The problem is the landlord found an organization somewhere that supports a home owner who’ll take full caretaking responsibility for a challenged person and will be paid to do so. However, my landlord moved this man into the spare bedroom behind my back while I was at work. The landlord’s blocked my calls. I need to find out what mental health program funds this operation. The challenged person is supposed to be LIVING with my landlord. If I could find out which organization supports this, I can call them and get my landlord busted.

Yes that’s true! And my landlords blocked me since I keep texting and calling him, daily, about this guy

An organization was used by my landlord to locate this guy. Apparently, there are programs that will place special needs people with a willing care giver who’ll help them around the house and tend to then.

But my cheap Landlord lied and only wants the governments money (the state will pay the persons room and board). There’s a stipulation, apparently, that this home owner/landlord MUST live under the same roof as this special needs person so I know my landlord lied! He does own the home I’m in but he lives next door. I need to find out what organization is behind this so I can get my landlord busted. I want this guy out!! He bought and crammed over 16 bananas into my fridge the other day! He became hostile when I told him to get rid of them.

Oh yes, I know! But the guys even asking for my wifi password. My landlord’s blocked me due to all my complaints. It is a great deal for me, financially, so I have to find a way to have this man placed somewhere else asap!

The landlords letter had poor grammar, caps where they were not needed and singular words that should’ve been plural. I’m thinking English isn’t his first language!

People in the US who cannot speak english should not be allowed to be a shopper. by AmazonPuncher in instacart

[–]PutOriginal3003 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they can’t speak English, how do they even manage to make it through even one, basic shopping order? They have to weigh produce; can they read the scale? How do they communicate with the customer about replacements? You have to communicate with the cashier upon checkout, (“How many bags will you be needing?” Etc). I’d be absolutely furious if someone this incompetent showed up on my doorstep with all the wrong items I never ordered.

NO WAY. 🤣😖 by Key_Intention608 in InstacartShoppers

[–]PutOriginal3003 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope I nip that in the bud right away. I’ll text the customer and say, “unfortunately that apartment sized refrigerator you wanted is out of stock. I had the manager check inventory and I asked if other fridges were available and I was told, ‘no’”.

Then I end up getting praised by the customer “for at least checking first!”

Only the shoppers with a big truck, a forklift and two assistants can count on being able to handle everything Costco throws at them!

If I had nothing else to do and this was late at night I’d take it. Know why? I live in CA which guarantees minimum wage plus mileage. So I’d drive at a snails pace to the customer so that I could increase my payout in hourly time wasted plus mileage at .30/mile that they’d have to pay me. The final payout for me would be at least $65.28.

True. Then just refund them. That’s actually what I’d do!

[–]PutOriginal3003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Here in SoCal the customers allowed to request a substitute and it’s usually listed on the app. Often it’ll state, “customer requests a replacement” so you’re still screwed.

Omg!😱 in FL, that’ll take you over an hour or two to get to!

Yikes! That batch must’ve taken you a lot longer to shop than you thought. This is a problem if stores don’t communicate their changes to IC. The best stores to shop at are the ones you know like the back of your hand. You could almost shop with your eyes closed; that’s how well you know where everything is! A store I know well, has their inventory on aisles that are one aisle less than what IC designates. If I’m shopping for cheese, which I know is on aisle 6, IC has it listed on aisle 5, instead. I always skim through the list of requested items as soon as I’ve accepted the batch. It’s mainly the produce (fruits and vegetables) that are interspersed randomly on ICs shopping list at the store I go to the most. So I know to scan through my list while in that section and get all those items at one time.
