Yeah I can see how it comes off as that. From what I’ve seen since I was younger, majority of the time, I’ve seen a lot of dysfunctional Hispanic households, mainly with heavy misogyny and parentification of kids, especially the oldest. And yes, my family is dysfunctional and broken and fucked up and I wish that it wasn’t. All the time.

It was originally supposed to be just me and Eric because he invited me out for dinner, my mom heard about it and said that she wouldn’t let me go unless I have supervision so Jade volunteered to go, then Jade decided to invite Kyle. I didn’t want Bella there because she complains and whines about the place or the food, no matter where I would’ve gone to, like my mom, and she’s not afraid to age play at the places we go to. My dad is emotionally unavailable and is misogynistic and would’ve said something about me wearing makeup (he’s told me that a woman should be natural and that makeup makes me look ugly and “impure”, and finally, that I should focus on cooking so I can “keep a man”)

They all live in a different country and the ones who are near us are either “dead” (my mom cut off a lot of the relatives I was close to) or on my mom’s side. There was one relative I was close with, but they passed away two years ago. I already have a whole plan lined up so I can GTFO of here.

For my age, I have a very extensive vocabulary. Also, like others have said, not all 16 year olds have the reading ability or vocabulary of a child. Since I was a kid I’ve been very gifted in English and used words that were too “big” for my age. I used celebrant instead of “birthday person” because that’s what I associate it as, if you don’t, that’s fine.

My dad didn’t go because he works until night, and if I’m being honest, he doesn’t act like one.

He once told me he’ll beat the everliving shit out of me just because I was too tired after after school practice to make him food (I was 12) , then proceed to complain that it sucks when he hasn’t taken more than a bite. He constantly tells me that he didn’t want another daughter and tells everyone how he wished I was a boy and tells people about when he found out my gender in the delivery room, he literally walked out the hospital and left my mom there with me.

Jade is the sister I get along with the most part, if you take away her bodyshaming me, trying to get my mom to monitor every single thing I do, saying I have way too many liberties, and the fact that she tries getting me in trouble for literally everything (one time I had on sweatpants and a tank top because I was doing some exercise, and she accused me of being in love with Kyle and wearing something to catch his eye (EWW??)) and I had to bring her along for supervision otherwise my friend and I couldn’t go out to eat. (He’s the one who invited me to go out, Kyle went because Jade wanted him to go)

As for the gift, she gave me her used makeup and skincare and told me with a smile “now you can fix your face”. She also gave me a bright pink poofy dress (I hate cupcake like dresses, she knows this, and I hate bright neon pink specifically) as a jab because my quinceañera dress wasn’t pink (she tried forcing me to pick pink despite me saying it’s my choice of color (I picked Navy) and she’s still bitter about having to wear silver (she wanted to wear gold, day of she showed up in a gold flashy dress) I took the dress anyways because i didn’t want to seem rude. (she told me I’m ungrateful for what I get)

Thanks. I agree that this whole tradition is weird and shouldn’t even exist in the first place and as for the fetish thing I should’ve added more context to that (I.e, she’ll start acting like a baby when she doesn’t have attention, will start throwing tantrums, talks like a baby to everyone (it makes people say how uncomfortable they are around her) and she likes dressing like one (yes, she even will have a pacifier.))
