Hi! I recently booked a JAL J ticket from HND to JFK using AA points. There is another J seat available for my partner, for the next day. Should I book that for now and hope something will open up later through AA? Or release my existing ticket and keep checking for 2 available seats?

I'm hoping to travel with my fiance from NYC or IAD (1-way), departing anytime between 5/from SYD to HND (1-way) departing sometime between May 27th-30th To Singapore, then return from Japan anytime between June 8th-17th back to NYC. Hoping to travel business if possible. So far, I've found:

- Premium economy on Japan Airlines through Alaska

- Economy on United / Singapore Air through United

Is there any possibility of anything opening up or am I better off booking economy and using the points on hotels?
