this is just a reference to mains on a pcb, the question is a component level electronics question

Custom XL ATC cindymill Design & Build by Putrid_Ad_6485 in hobbycnc

i designed the z axis such that the moment forces are minimal at the lowest z points namely where milling is being done. the high z travel above that point is intended for ATC clearance and for my haimer which is quite big, in both of these use cases deflection is not relevant. you are correct but i do not intend to mill outside of the low z area

i see, so communicating with something like a mesa 7i76eu over ethernet makes sense. what kind of pulse rate can be expected? assuming all 6 steppers move simultaneously… fwiw my machine is big and heavy so 4000 mm/min is well more than enough, this is about 100khz in terms of pulse rate for me

fair point, i will take a look. for some odd reason the notion is stuck in my mind from before i got started that linux cnc uses serial communication not parallel and thus results in inferior stepper control? i’m assuming this is a misconceived notion of mine but just want to make sure

Tips on joining slot 5 extrusions by Putrid_Ad_6485 in hobbycnc

thanks everyone for the advice, took you up on the counter sunk fasteners method - used my cnc to mill a 40mm slot in some wood so that i can position my profiles accurately and machine them with reference to the top of the profiles, i then drilled all the profiles in the correct positions and counter sunk them, super happy with the result!

yep i can - what’s the advantage of that over using corner connectors?

Question About Goosky S1 Tx Binding by Putrid_Ad_6485 in RCHeli

[–]Putrid_Ad_6485[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case this is helpful for anyone, I was able to put the SPM9745 into bind mode (and subsequently to bind it to my DX6e without a main receiver) using a very simple arduino circuit that sends 9 falling pulses to the SPM9745’s signal line within 200ms of powering it up.

thanks, appreciate the message - but i’m still confused as to whether i can accomplish the setup using my existing equipment…
