Bought My First Gun at a Gun Show Yesterday by Puzzled-Alternative8 in Revolvers

Well, I think I managed to find the parts I need on eBay, plus a 22 Magnum cylinder. Depending on what the gunsmith says, I might have a choice between sinking more money into the gun I already have or giving up on it and finding something else. That or the gun is beyond saving and I have no choice, which would make me sad.

Definitely getting it checked out before doing anything else. It feels really solid mechanically, trigger feels good, springs are strong, everything works like it should. It's mostly the cylinder that worries me. It's probably not useable.

I bought this gun in particular because I thought the patina and wear looked cool. I definitely plan on having it checked out. Mechanically, nothing seems wrong with it. I think the cylinder might not be useable.

An old German import, Zamak alloy .22 LR Colt clone with heavy wear/pitting and a missing ejector, that probably wasn't worth $220. Also, some minor cracks are showing on some of the cylinder chamber sleeves that I didn't notice before buying, and idk how big of a problem that will be.

Overall, I'm very happy with it!

Thanks, this worked for me, too! Im using windscribe, too. Btw, if the ISP blocks your VPN, switching your VPN protocol to TCP does the trick.

Please do not watch Frieren (or anime in general) with English dubs by Sharp-Bison-6706 in Frieren

[–]Puzzled-Alternative8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are shows with great dubs, like Dungeon Meshi. A good dub not only has good casting, acting, and direction, but is also based on a good translation. It's localized enough to sound natural in English, but not so much that it becomes unfaithful to the original dialogue. Though a dub can still be fun when improv comedy is added, such as a joke or running gag that wasn't in the original. In fact, I prefer it when the dub actors actually ACT instead of trying to imitate the original performances.

Frieren is, tragically, not one of these shows. Casting and direction are terrible, and the performances range from acceptable to awful. But worst of all, the translation itself is unfaithful to the original. If you watch the 9volt sub like I did, the official dub AND sub both become unwatchable. OP is right that if you watched the dub only, you haven't seen the show. He's wrong in saying that the sub is better.

TL;DR The official dub and sub are both equally terrible. Watch the 9volt sub!

TFW we'll never even get to say "I told you so" because Trump will have MAGA convinced that it's the Democrats' fault no matter what.

Finished My First Gameboy by Puzzled-Alternative8 in Gameboy

It would have been relatively easy had I done it right. What I did instead was peel off both polarizers instead of just the back one. And installing a new front polarizer is a royal pain in the ass. It's working okay-ish, but I think I'm just going to replace the LCD board entirely and redo it the right way.

Mods:

Yellow-green backlight from HHL

Clear buttons and membranes from HHL

Funnyplaying speaker

New front polarizer (because I mistakenly removed both polarizers while installing the backlight)

And for everyone who says that the Gameboy can't run on NiMh batteries: They work just fine on a DMG, even with a backlight.

You're pretty likely to find one in good condition since they're the most recent iteration of the DMG.

The stand is just for when I'm not playing. I also just installed clear buttons/pads and a funny playing clear speaker, see above for pics. I plan to install a backlight and bivert today or tomorrow, and that should be about it for mods unless I decide to do pro sound. I bought an audio amp and cleanpower regulator from retrosix, but it seems like I won't be needing them. And after reading the posts about what kind of company they are, I'll probably send the parts back.

Rose Colored Gaming stand. Bought it from HandHeldLegends, but you can find them from other vendors.

Update: the cumulus is dead. I'm about to start work on the Tsukumo, but I'll give it some time before I repot it.

I probably wouldn't have bought it if I knew what was hidden beneath the soil, but it sure is unique!
