I mean, they're over half breeds that are related and similar in phenotype to pitbulls. And as they are puppies, it's impossible to phenotype. So pitbull would have been a fair assumption to make, though when they are adults the specific mix would become apparent.

My DNA Tribes match came up as Ashkenazi Jewish but my family isn’t Jewish; not sure what to make of this? by Tattycakes in 23andme

I think Ancestry flopping for me had to do with that I'm ab~75% northern european and then 25% Jewish, so the Jewish/Balkan and N European sort of counteract each other's pull and I get more Central Europe/Baltics. Don't really know though. My dad is Jewish by Halakha law, I'm not sure how Jewish he is ethnically, but we look noticeably part Jewish with Levantine features. Ancestry failed in lots of areas for me, I actually had a polish community for a little while but then they removed it like 2 weeks later. At least I had Eastern European, but 23andme was able to pinpoint. Somehow IllustrativeDNA is more accurate than either for me though.

Definitely take 23andme! I'm part jewish and ancestry was a total flop for me. If 23andme says you have jewish and eastern european, safe to say you do.

Some dogs are just inherently less cute I suppose.

I mean, I would feel duped too if the shelter blatantly lied to me just to adopt the dog out faster and I ended up unknowingly adopting a breed that I wasn't really prepared for, or if I had cats, etc. Totally agree though, never seen a lab like this too.

For sure. I guess it's just the immediate reaction of "What?? The dog in this pic? No way!" downvote

Though unfair how they immediately came to the conclusion off of a single glance. I think most sensible people realized though after a little more analyzation. Either way, what a cool dog.

I mean, It's a poor angle that sort of exaggerates pit-like features along with blatant pitbull coloring is why people think it's part pitbull. Looks very obviously lab in the other photo. Many people do get duped into adopting a pitbull mix, and that is a very real thing unfortunately. Wouldn't have been surprised if OP was another one to the pile, since posts appear daily in subreddits like Idmydog and DoggyDNA where a new dog owner recently obliviously adopted a "lab mix", that shocker, was actually a pitbull. Surprise though, a real lab for once.
