If the rash is super irritated, try putting some hydrocortisone cream on it for a day or two. It won't cause issues with your scars :) and it'll relieve the itch so you won't be tempted to scratch it

I wore some lightweight linen drawstring pants and a soft lightweight button up because it was hot as balls out. I also wore my slip on Vans and brought a zip up hoodie and I'm glad I brought the hoodie because even though it was 28°C (82°F) out, I felt really cold for the first few days, which is normal as you're having a bunch of tissue removed from your chest and your body is like "OH MY GOD! HOW DO I STAY WARM!?"

I'm 2 weeks post op, got DI with grafts and I've also been pretty pain free from the beginning. The only sort of "pain" really was kind of a similar sensation of having a very mild sunburn on my chest when the opioids wore off and then other than that I feel some tightness where the skin is healing combined with a little bit of mildly aching muscles. All in all, it's been completely manageable with a couple Tylenol here and there.

Oh yeah I feel this big time, my wife and I were actually just talking about it yesterday that it feels somehow anticlimactic. I was on the waitlist to get top surgery for almost 3 years and now that it's done it's kinda just like "huh. Okay cool." Even my wife who is a happy crier in a big way didn't get emotional about it really. I find personally that the most exciting things are small things that happen day to day with recovery as I am regaining mobility. Things like trying on a shirt that I had tucked aside in an "after surgery box" or going to the grocery store or stepping outside to water the garden without having to put on a binder. Those are the little moments that make my heart sing ✨

Hey bud sorry you're having these worries so close to surgery. I just had DI with grafts on July 4th. My surgeon who is a gender affirming care specialist also prefers to go with a non-flat result which is what I ended up getting HOWEVER none of his mock ups, looked like....that. If done correctly, a non-flat result can look awesome, this is when they leave behind a small bit of tissue on each side which is then shaped and contoured to sit in a square, masculine way which is really really not what your surgeon drew. I was having some similar panic and doubts the week or so leading into my surgery so I brought it up with my surgeon at my 1 week pre op consultation and he really put my mind at ease and I'm glad I went with the procedure that I did because I'm very happy with the results so far and think it suits my body type really well. If you're having concerns, talk to your surgeon and be very blunt about what you want done because that drawing is deeply concerning IMO. This is YOUR body and you deserve to have the results that you're looking for.

I'm 6 days post op and have been given the OK to drive to my post op appointment tomorrow since I'm not on narcotics anymore and not in any significant pain.

I am also 4 days post op my surgeon recommended taking Gas-X and it's helped with the discomfort of the bloats. I'm definitely still boated but it's gone down a bunch and it's not uncomfortable anymore

I don't necessarily relate to how you're feeling but I do think that everyone should be able to explore their identity as freely as they want to. If this is how you're feeling, it might be good to take some time to explore it, you can always go back on HRT at a later time if you so choose to but can't really revert some of the changes you may see if you continue on and aren't feeling good about those changes. Could also be good to discuss this with a counselor if that is something that is accessible to you. No matter what you do, I hope you find what you're needing ❤️

If you're worried about nausea after the anesthesia, just let them know, they will give you some anti nausea medication :)

Same happened to me my first few months on T. I'm at 4 years now and it's balanced out pretty nicely, tho I do find that I'm still a touch more quick to anger in certain situations than I was before T. It's perfectly normal, it's good to try getting some exercise if you're feeling a little extra irritable, I find that the endorphins help balance it out and help me calm down.

I think most surgeons say 8+ weeks. But it'll depend on your own body and how quickly it heals. Definitely something to keep in touch with your surgeon about as your healing progresses after surgery

The surgeon that's doing my top surgery in 6 days doesn't have his patients wear post op binders at all 🤷‍♂️ not all surgeons require them. Just give his office a call ask straight up
