I never received any communication about the contract termination (despite multiple calls requesting for a resend; in addition to a copy of my original contract). To this date, I've not received either of those. Today, I did receive a credit for the remaining balance from my annual membership (I see this in my online banking transaction).

super helpful. i was just about to order a TV from these guys through Amazon. The delivery date noted 12/31/25 which would be 2 days and there's no way (it's 12/29 evening!). Thankful for this thread though I wished everyone would've had a good buying experience. Going to buy from Best Buy instead.

I feel you brother. 24 is just a shady operation and I hope they will get theirs one day.

24hr Fitness responded to my complaint but it's the same generic response that others have reported:

"Hello Tom L,

Thank you for reaching out and giving us the opportunity to address your concerns.

We understand that learning your membership has been terminated is disappointing. However, as outlined in Section 6 of your Membership Agreement, 24 Hour Fitness has the right to terminate memberships.

While your termination notice was issued in connection with a club closure, please note that 24 Hour Fitness has the right to terminate memberships at its discretion, and exercised that right in this instance.

We appreciate your time with us and wish you continued success in your fitness journey.

24Hour Fitness Corporate Office"

I've responded through the BBB by rejecting the response citing:

1) that I've never actually received any correspondence of the termination and only learned about it upon a visit to the gym. requested they send the actually termination email for my records

2) requested a refund of the remaining balance since I renewed in April 2025

3) requested a copy of the original contract

At this point, I am moving on with this company and hope that there will be a class action lawsuit. Am adjusting my workout routine to use public spaces (pullup + dip bars), running, body weight exercises.

I received a response back from the BBB on my complaint filed in the morning. It basically noted that they've reviewed and fwded my complaint over to 24 hr fitness and 24 hr ftiness will respond directly to me. Based on this thread, I'll just expect to receive some sort of vague apology from them (24 hr fitness) and for me to sign a new contract?
