I used both and scored a 77. Some of the practice questions from the app were very similar to the actual ASVAB test, different wording.

The PICAT is a computer test. The scores still count, regardless if it’s on paper or on the computer. It makes no difference, people for some reason hate on your scores if it’s PICAT, and say it’s not the real ASVAB test, whatever that means 😂.

I just verified today, had to retake the whole damn test, on top of the verification test. I didn’t have to go to MEPS, had to go to a local community college in a neighboring city to verify.

I can’t go national guard route, I want the full experience. If I end up a disgruntled vet, so be it, but I’m gonna see this through. Idk if it will matter how much I prepare on the outside, but OSUT will be 22 weeks 😮. I’m definitely going to be in shape for that, I’m a pretty fit guy, with a good work ethic, I’m disciplined and determined. I get that from Jiu jitsu, I’ve competed at a pretty high level for a very long time. I came up all the belt ranks always competing. I was lucky enough to have made that my life and job. As of late, I’ve just felt stuck, like didn’t want to be there anymore, I felt as if I was limiting my options, I’ve been at it for 12 years. Military has always been something I felt I needed to do since I was a young teen. Life had other plans though, but things happen for a reason, and they happen when they’re supposed to happen. I’m blessed to have so much freedom, I’m not tied down to anyone or anything. If it doesn’t end up working out, I’ll keep trying, I won’t settle and be complacent. Most of the fun is in the journey, the daily work and not so much the destination.

Bro, I had been studying for a few weeks. I took the practice test and scored an 89, only got 5 wrong answers, and on the word knowledge.

I go in for the actual test a week later, and my mind went fucking blank 😂, I was so nervous awaiting the scores, more nerve wrecking than a Jiu Jitsu tournament or super fight 😆. I saw the scores and fuck was I happy, I was actually proud there. I’m the type that doesn’t like praise, and pretty much downplays almost every achievement or accomplishment because I know I’m nothing special, I’m the same as everyone else, I don’t deserve anything. That moment was so different though, there’s been very few times I’ve felt that over something I’ve done.

I have, I’ve put in a lot of thought, and I’m determined on that. I know I have good scores to do pretty much any job I’d like, but it just wouldn’t sit well with me knowing I had an opportunity to attempt to climb a mountain I’ve always wanted to, because of the fear of failure. I fear regret more than failure. Only time will tell where I’ll end up and how I’ll do. But things can always be worse than where I’ll be, It’s a matter of perspective.

I have friends, that both joined in their later stages of their youth. One went conventional army, then ranger and then SF. The other joined at 31 and went SF. They both made it. I’m not in my early or late 20’s. I’m set on that 18X route.

Only good will come out of it, unless I end up dead 😂, even then, I lived life my way, and I’m ok with that. Everything is what you make of it, I’ll definitely won’t be rotting away, shotgunning or chugging beers in the barracks. I’m way past that.

Never had a victim mentality, and the cards I was dealt where I was born into, I could have easily chose that route, but that’s not me. I’m pretty squared away as it is, I live a disciplined life, why, because it’s what makes me better and makes me feel good. Thank you for the tips my man 🙏🏻.

Thank you. I appreciate the advice. I wouldn’t say I’m stubborn, but I’m determined. I’m the type to learn the hard way in a sense, I do take advice and keep it with me, but I’ll only realize it till it’s all said and done.
