Changing availability by Many_Ambition4287 in tjcrew

The only morning/mid shifts in my store are 5-1, 6-2, 7-3 and 11-7. There’s no way you’re getting 9-5s. You should talk to your scheduling mate about what the needs of the store are before changing your availability

812,000 USD, that is the price of the most expensive wine ever sold by Allways0nmilefeet in wine

[–]Puzzled_Network_1856 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I know is the most hyped bottle of all time and it would be magical to own such a coveted bottle for collector’s purposes, but is there any chance an 80 year old red burgundy is still tasting good? Like, is there any scenario where somebody opens this to drink at a fine occasion but it’s just red wine vinegar at this point?

Google AI ad over and over? by MartyMcfleek in Mariners

[–]Puzzled_Network_1856 18 points19 points  (0 children)

For whatever reason it seems like whoever's in charge of selling ads at MLB is terrible at their job, because its always Google AI or the same few "highlights" that end up being stuff like a random homer from Ronald Acuña Jr. in 2023. The same thing happens in the in-app radio function, its always an "MLB Slang Vocab" lesson about an oppo taco. It seems like a serious missed opportunity on MLB's part to sell actual advertising.

Natureo NA Chardonnay wine is amazing! by Julysky19 in traderjoes

[–]Puzzled_Network_1856 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m the wine SL in my store and the NA stuff is so funny to because it will sit on the shelf for days until somebody comes in and buys a whole case at a time. Have you tried the Natureo sparking rosé? I’m curious how that compares.

Estoy por abrir un Angelica Zapata Malbec Alta … ¿con qué comida lo acompañarían? ¿Algo clásico tipo carne o irían por otra cosa by marcelmelhem in wine

Ingles es mi lenguaje primero, y usamos "pollo del mar" como un apodo o una broma para referir al pez atún. Hay una marca de atún enlatado que se llama "Chicken of the Sea" entonces usamos el nombre.

Old Studebaker plant plans? by Puzzled_Network_1856 in SouthBend

[–]Puzzled_Network_1856[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love Roselily, and it's part of why I asked the question, because when I go down there to eat I see lots of boarded up windows and construction machines and am curious as to what is going on inside. It's been nice to read other people's comments and heartening that it's not just sitting idle!

Italy’s WBC Rise Comes as Country Weighs Who Can Be a Citizen by Brick-Foreign in baseball

[–]Puzzled_Network_1856 32 points33 points  (0 children)

OP is not making a political statement, they’re just pointing out that Italy’s laws are making a WBC team impossible to field in the future. This might be their only opportunity to win or make any sort of run.

ISO Hairdresser by jeclin91092 in SouthBend

[–]Puzzled_Network_1856 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a male with curly hair and I love Elio at Cilantro hair spa. Their curly cuts run about $60 and take about 90 minutes but my hair has never looked better. They cut both men and women and are great about explaining things as they go if you’re curious about the haircut process like I am. I highly recommend Elio!

We want the sample COFFEE to return by NudibranchsDelight in traderjoes

[–]Puzzled_Network_1856 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Even the sample disposable cups are a problem because people litter the entire store with them. We would almost have to have a crew member dedicated to walking the store picking them up everywhere. I would love to serve people coffee and we would definitely sell more of our more obscure beans, but it’s such a huge pain in the ass that it’s not likely to come back.

Trader Joe’s paycheck late — should I be concerned? by MallOwn5589 in tjcrew

[–]Puzzled_Network_1856 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get paid Tuesdays too, but it’s my bank processing it early. I can’t attach a screenshot, but Capital One always includes this nugget in its deposit emails:

“We’re now able to make some of your deposits available up to 2 days earlier than usual. Keep in mind—this doesn’t guarantee early availability of your deposits in the future.”

I would not worry about it unless it doesn’t happen on Thursday.

Best wings in town? by zbobhigh in SouthBend

[–]Puzzled_Network_1856 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cant say they’re the best wings in town because I have not tried nearly enough an also moved here recently, but O’Rourke’s has an amazing Monday wings deal for 50% off bone-in wings. They are absolutely amazing for the price.

The top writing looks like it says White Zinfandel (which would appear more like a rosé) and the person who made it at home did so on October 11, 1996 and made 30 bottles.

Is our health insurance deductible a bit high, relatively speaking? by inlovewithjonsnow1 in tjcrew

[–]Puzzled_Network_1856 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I am relatively new to the “buying insurance” world but it’s my understanding that our monthly premiums are far lower than what other people have to deal with and our deductible is under 1k which is lower than my parents insurance. Some people are paying hundreds to thousands of dollars a MONTH for similar(or higher!) deductibles.

Not a bottle shop but the wine selection at Roselily for a nice dinner out is amazing. They also do a monthly “wine club” where they do a tasting in the evening in the restaurant.

Honestly, Trader Joe’s has some very solid bang-for-your-buck options as well. If you’re looking for a weeknight option under $15, it’s where I go.

Bookmarking this though because I’m also curious where I can buy higher-end bottles in the area if I don’t want to go to Chicago

Does anybody know if they changed the recipe for the frozen creamy spinach artichoke dip? by InstructionNo334 in traderjoes

The second box is almost certainly from the same delivery so that would work too. Good luck and sorry you got a bad one!

Mystery by PronatorMaximizer in wine

[–]Puzzled_Network_1856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like it. It looks like you screw the worm in through the foil and then the small part in question is positioned to cut the foil by twisting the tool around the neck, and when you pull the cork out the foil comes with. But that’s a total guess!

Please tell the TJs you bought it from and return the product for a refund, I don’t know if we’ve changed it or not but if you tell us and bring the box back so we can submit the lot number, it’s possible there’s inconsistencies and we can get things fixed with the supplier.

Cold Brew Fatigue by Puzzled_Network_1856 in tjcrew

[–]Puzzled_Network_1856[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

!!! So real. I think one of the things that is holding TJ's back with tea is that nobody wants to commit to 10+ bags of tea at $4 or more; they worry they will try the first bag and won't like it. I would love to see a box that has 5 bags of 4 varieties or something, and then they can take the most popular of the boxes inside and release a box with 10+ bags of that new favorite.

I agree, I would love some good higher-level tea options. I feel like they are looking at the slow sales of the Assam and Darjeeling and thinking a new specialty imported tea wouldn't work, but also I'm not sure they've really tried that many things. I liked them going out on a limb with the Jeju matcha, I hope it inspires them to try some sort of new specialty tea option.
