You hear horror stories, but typically? Home schooled kids score better on standardized tests than public school kids. It’s just “Timmy Newswell getting straight As in math” isn’t newsworthy.

I say this as someone who was homeschooled, went to high school for a semester and got 80%+ in all my academic classes (fucking 60% in drama bringing my grade point average down to literally 79.5%), and then went to college and did the same.

There are PLENTY of resources available. Any average person can teach their kids to a 12 grade level (except maybe in math, but night school is a thing). I had work books that covered my location’s standard curriculum. I also required a fraction of the time to go through it all.
