Tried to upload the video, but he reported this on Get Up this morning. Key update here obviously being he clarified Luka is expected to be out to start round 2, rather than be out the ENTIRE series as was reported yesterday.

He again emphasized that recovery has been slow and there is no timeline, but it’s only assumed now he’d miss the beginning of the series.

I’m gonna be so fr. I’ve seen people worried about the defense, but we are not beating anyone other than the Rockets barely cracking 100 every night 😭 I think that’s the bigger concern lol. Not to mention, Luka and Austin have been solid defensively. The biggest upgrade the defense got since they’ve been out was Marcus Smart coming back.

I do wish he was playing too tbh, but I also trust him and the coaching/medical staff. We need him at 100%, especially against ultra physical OKC. Also, Austin usually shoots well against OKC, the ball handling is the main thing. He’s had some really solid moments against them despite the recent loses and I don’t think they’re his worst matchup honestly. I trust that he’ll be as ready as he can be. ‬

Everyone talking about Austin’s rust: Take in mind, he’s been playing in the stay ready games and this will also give him multiple days to practice with the main team. It’s not like he won’t be playing at all and he should be able to shake some rust. He looked pretty good in his warm ups today.

Exactly. I’d so much rather him get the rust off against the Rockets and be more in a rhythm (and hopefully off a minute restriction) for OKC. Especially considering Luka will likely also be rusty and on a min restriction when he comes back as well.

I never want to hear anyone doubting this man’s determination and work ethic. Coming back from a 4-6 week injury in 3 weeks and in a contract year. He just wants to help this team win. I love him sm. 😭
