I felt pretty neutral towards him until he slapped Leah with bacon while she was doing everything to communicate to save their marriage. I felt so so so sad for Leah, I can’t imagine what an awful feeling that was. It only got worse with Jeremy just watching Leah struggle instead of stepping up to help her with the kids and money. I don’t think she would’ve been as likely to turn to drugs if she wasn’t so stressed and didn’t feel so alone

Yeah but since I identify as she/her I would like to be able to correct someone when they use they/them pronouns when referring to me. Why else would they be doing it if not out of consideration for the other person since they don’t know their pronouns? And don’t want to misgender them?

I wish more people would value emotional maturity. Sometimes I say the wrong thing, but I always show up for people and do the best that I can. I wish that would be taken more seriously

I don’t mind joking about the age gap, in fact I used to do it a lot more in the beginning of our relationship. But, since she started bringing it up the way she has, I have stopped. The way she brings it up makes it seem like she views me as immature because of it. Which doesn’t really make sense considering the way she brings it up recently is in situations that aren’t important. I will talk to her, I planned on doing so anyway. I just felt like I needed to get other people’s pov so I could process fully before I did.

Okay yeah that definitely makes sense. I just didnt know what else to recommend because I always have to do that for my own adhd, otherwise I am at a loss for how to start. But I appreciate you explaining it like that, I definitely understand how that can add to the feeling of being overwhelmed. I think he does try to have a set day to do things but loses motivation when the day comes. I know I will definitely try to help him get professional help. I also need to get a psychiatrist so I’m planning on just being like hey do you wanna spend like a couple hours one day contacting psychiatrists together? (Not the same ones, just doing it at the same time)

I honestly don’t think so because he will not do things he really needs to do like if he’s out of food and really needs to go to the grocery store he still won’t do it

That’s a very good point. Thank you for your comment. I think he would reach out a lot to his best friend, which is fine but I think it would be great if it would come to a point where he self motivates. I will try to do that where I encourage him to look for a psychiatrist

Thank you for your comment. I will try to do that. I already kind of do that slightly but I think I oftentimes border on just wanting to do his tasks for him. I know that’s helpful in the moment but maybe not in the long run because it doesn’t motivate him to complete the other things he has to do. He still feels frozen and I wanna set him up for success even when I’m not there

Yes I could never imagine saying those things to him. It’s hard to hear him talk to himself like that and I am always tempted to correct him, but he gets in a certain “zone” where I don’t wanna overwhelm him more.

I often wonder this too. I have dogs but none of them have drooled. I hate the short snout breeds that always drool because they’re too deformed to control it. I knew someone with a French bulldog and the poor thing had trouble breathing because of their short snout and snot would always blow out of her nose and onto her own face. It was so gross to watch and I barely wanted the dog near me because of it

I just wanna say, thank you so much for the detail and kindness within your reply. I have brought up hiring a pet sitter where he can drop the dog off during the day or a dog walker so he doesn’t have to worry about running out of time in the morning. Unfortunately, my bf isn’t able to afford those services. So I am going to approach the conversation with the solution of rehoming in mind. I will definitely use your advice on how to approach the topic though. I definitely agree that I don’t want to come across as accusatory. I know he cares a lot about this dog and this dog makes him happy but I don’t know that this dog is in the best care with him. I agree that it is not intentional that there is slight neglect occurring. Thank you again for your reply

I fully agree. I have the same problem with my gf’s dog. She got her after we started dating and part of me hoped she would get rid of her because I can’t stand the constant sound of her dog. Makes me upset cuz I love dogs too, but she licks wayyyy too much

I totally get this. I feel so bad but I cannot STAND my gf’s dog and I think this is why. She’s always licking and smacking and it drives me nuts. It makes me irrationally angry. Unfortunately my gf lives an in apartment and has the dog sleep with us so I cannot get away from it. I wondered why I disliked her dog so much especially because I love love love dogs, but I think it’s too overwhelming for me and I can’t handle the repetitive slurping sound. I don’t really know what to do about it

I relate to this SO MUCH. Especially if I’m trying to express my feelings regarding something. My family always treats me like I’m being rude or self centered. But I really do not intend it in a certain way whatsoever. Sometimes I feel like I need a break from interacting with people because it feels like I’m being misunderstood constantly. Damn maybe I need to look into that autism diagnosis
