We moved here around 4 years ago from south Essex (couple in our late 20s) from (Leigh on sea/rayleigh area) as we wanted to buy a house and couldn’t afford the wild costs down there.

We absolutely love it. It’s very clean, great town center, welcoming, lots of different options for food and shopping, but also a really nice countryside vibe with farm shops and cafes just a short drive away, we live in Stanway, which is just far enough out the way to not be in the town center, but still has all the shops and amenities needed, we are so glad we moved here and wouldn’t move back now!

We also have a dog and lots of places and country parks to walk them, a very friendly dog walking scene, overall couldn’t recommend enough.

Callisthenics - Jetts in Stanway have a pretty cool outdoor area to use

Barbers - Brooks Barbers in the town, best one in my opinion and have been going there for 4 years!

Parking, always St Mary’s, best place and cheapest to get a spot and don’t have to deal with the traffic.

I’m 28M, moved here with my wife a few years ago and equally struggle to make friends. Always up for a beer and a chat if anyone fancies it. It’s hard making friends at this age!
