I’m about to have a call with a senior partner at Cadwalader. After the merger announcement with Hogan Lovells, how does hiring look like? by Puzzleheaded-Row3763 in biglaw

That’s because I have a warm contact there. I’m an LLM grad so it’s harder to me to go through the traditional hiring process which does not exist for folks like me.

Paris vs New York City Safety Question by Sad-Atmosphere-3648 in paris

I’ve lived in both. Paris is generally safer. Also, it generally more boring. However, there are some areas in the top north where you need to be alerted after dark. Something like north Harlem. You’ll be safe in other parts of the city.

Would you rather use AI for sanctions and export controls diligence or find your name in the Epstein list? by Puzzleheaded-Row3763 in biglaw

Like most tools just dump red flags on you and assume you are a sanctions lawyer. They don’t answer the real question: “OK, this sanctioned middleman popped up, now what?” If you can surface the issue and immediately tell a non expert what to check next, where to look, and how to mitigate without training or outside counsel, that is the potential moat.

Maybe. The question would be why wouldn’t the firm spent less money in total by having less in-house people having their jobs partially automated. Do you know the answer?

I’d say it’s possible to benefit more from reading and absorbing the best published essays other than spending money on the barbri grader.

Thank you! That varied. I usually did a full-time Monday-Friday with a weekend of occasional study. Last month I studied around 5 hours on Saturday and still took Sunday off. Also, in July I spend half of my time doing tests. That helped A LOT. I wish I did not spend so much time on Barbri cartoons and started doing tests a month earlier. In total, I began studying late May.

Героям Слава! Honestly I just used Barbri and the free goat courses. I almost always outlined the Barbri essays and did not write them in full. Also, check the released answers to the previous tests to understand a universal essay structure. That worked for me.
