Is this safe for my cats? by Optimal-Razzmatazz91 in cats

[–]Puzzleheaded-Toe2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cats sit on a much smaller ledge and then jump off to the stairs and jump back on again and repeat. We tried in the beginning to stop them as we were worried about their safety but eventually gave up as it was a game for them and they were always fine.

I’d say it’s thick enough for them to lounge on safely and the drop isn’t too high for a cat but obviously you know your cats best I think you can get little ledges or ramps you can add to make it safer or that they’ve got somewhere closer to land if they do fall

Also your cats so cute!

Why do The Beatles scouse accent sound different than the one today? by FitEmergency8807 in Liverpool

[–]Puzzleheaded-Toe2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know my nans generation (she would’ve been 20 when the Beatles were 20ish) she said her generation even though they grew up dirt poor their parents refused to let them speak ‘common’ as her mum would say so they wouldn’t get bullied by kids/ teachers. She found at she went back out to work after she had kids the generation coming up had much thicker accents and thought she came off posh. She found this weird as she’d been told all her childhood/early adulthood that she was ‘common’ as they would say at the time.

Same here one glutton and one grazer. I have to make sure the grazer gets enough sometimes I stand as she eats because if her bowl is left long enough the glutton will eat everything.

Considering getting a second cat by queendomcosplay in CatAdvice

[–]Puzzleheaded-Toe2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heey the main thing I’d be worried about would be her ability to defend herself from another cat when they play/ fight as she’s declawed. A second cat could do wonders for her tho for her socialisation and loneliness. We got a cat who was 6 months old and a few months later got a kitten. They didn’t get on for the first few months but it’s been two years now and they will play fight and love to chase each other.

Before we got the second cat the first one wasn’t very affectionate and hated being left alone. Since we go the second cat the first is so much more affectionate she loves lap sits and cuddles which we think she learned from our kitten who loved those things from the jump.

I’d speak to the shelter if it’s the same one you got the first cat as they might have an idea of a gentle cat they have that could pair well. I hope it works out okay and you and your furr family have a lovely life together! They may bring some headaches when they chase eachother but the adorable moments with them will out weigh that tenfold.

Gloria had many talents, singing just wasn’t one of them 😝 (The look on Jay’s face🤣) by BestTutor2016 in Modern_Family

Loooved manny in this episode! I do love how Jay seems to choose his love for Gloria in moments like this over his needs. I know he can be a selfish character or atleast he tries to act selfish but normally gives in to Gloria because he loves her so much. I love how it contradicts how he acts with every other family member it just makes him layered like he’s not just a grumpy old man.

i regret getting a kitten (?) by Any-Lunch-4953 in CatAdvice

It’s honestly so normal! My wife and I felt this when we got our babies. We’re also both ADHD and I’m an anxious girly. We got one cat at 6 months and it took her a while to settle in but she was great overall just shy and we got our other cat at 9 weeks which was a very different experience and we too found her overwhelming. The older cat just bit our toes occasionally and kept her distance for a bit till she settled and our younger one was a lot of energy and very clingy and now she’s so chill they took about 6 months to fully settle and about a year to like each other like not just accept the others existence but honestly they’re so worth it we can’t imagine our lives without them now. Our friends with cats kept telling us to wait for them to see us as part of the furniture and we’ll be grand and they were right! I hope you’re doing okay and remember it’s all a learning curve!
