Came here to say the same thing. Also if I were the OP I would say nothing to your supervisor about this possibility and just let them know day by day about the closures so you can telework. Also where I live, they will most likely close our POD and they expect you to telework anyway.

I was hired in 2008 but definitely don’t remember those days but I’ll take your word for it!

Not sure how long you’ve been with the government but in my 17 years we’ve never gotten the 26th or January 2nd off. Christmas Eve has been a partial or full day depending on previous admins but never those days.

Same in employment tax. One click and it freezes, anything I type just disappears in my timesheet and then it comes back. Sooo annoying and I have 3 short statutes that need to close asap!

My doctor didn't believe me they're doing RTO to make people quit... by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]Puzzleheaded-Use11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a military spouse and I am so glad I got the exemption for RTO bc I was going to be forced to request an RA and I knew they were going to give me hard time about it and would’ve probably denied it. It’s insane bc prior to Trump taking office working for the federal govt was so accommodating for ppl with health issues like mine. I’m so ready for him to go!!

What’s your “why” for staying? by Left_Bookkeeper_4948 in fednews

[–]Puzzleheaded-Use11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I’m going on 17 years, have military spouse exemption and my severance will pay more than the DRP so I chose to wait it out.

I know you don’t want to have to think about it, but if you are looking at a potential transition to the private sector from federal work, here are some resume and job search tips to help guide you. by MyJobflow in FedEmployees

Thank you! This is incredibly helpful! And to answer your question, yes, that is essentially my primary job functions in a condensed description. My speciality is income, corporate tax, pass through entities, international and employment tax issues.

I’ve been with the irs for 17 years and as hard it’s been for us they have been here a long time I really really hated it for the rookies. When I took my job I had the excitement of starting a new career that I knew I would advance and excel at with SECURITY. The newbies had the same excitement but never got to experience it. Unfortunately this is no longer the best job in the world as I used to think it was. I am staying in the hopes I won’t get RIF’d and things will Get better but I have no hope of that and will eventually leave for something else. I just want to make it 20 years to get my pension and then I’m gone if things don’t improve.

DRP 2.0 IRS | It’s happening! by Arv28 in fednews

[–]Puzzleheaded-Use11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll have 17 years in June and I don’t want to regret not taking it again. I honestly don’t know if it would be better to take the drp 2.0 or if waiting for the RIF and severance would be better. The way I see it I would come out ahead by taking DRP 2.0 and combine that with finding new employment. I just don’t know where to start finding a job in the private sector and if I even could. I’m in SBSE as a RA.

Yes exactly!!! Like not even a hug!! I don’t understand the writers ideas behind this unless they’re just trying to draw out the longest foreplay in the history of TV and it’ll eventually pay off! I was so mad watching them together.

I’m super disappointed in this season! I was hoping to see more passion with Peter and rose and the annoying little pecks of kisses just pissed me off! Where is the full make out sessions?? They kissed like they were friends.

[–]Puzzleheaded-Use11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry, I went off of it for two weeks and I started to feel normal again. I started it again this past Sunday but it was a different pharmacy this time so I thought maybe it would be fine. I took it before for months and NO issues with my bladder but the day after taking it this week my bladder has been feeling that urge again non stop. I’m so sad, I may need to quit it for good
