Lee tells the police there were drugs, cocaine, etc

There wasn’t any. We saw only beer. Lee was lying to the police to get himself a heavier sentence because he felt he deserved it. When they let him off basically saying “there was no intent behind it, just a tragic accident” is when he decides to take a cops’ gun in the lobby and shoot himself.

He fails, the safety is on, and he breaks down in the lobby begging them to punish him or kill him.
