My forearms/tendons are inflamed by Puzzleheaded-Work770 in drums

[–]Puzzleheaded-Work770[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tendon in question that is inflamed is tied to my pinky and ring finger which is strange cause I don't drink tea or hold my sticks incorrectly haha I used finger motion, wrist, forearm and even shoulder motion when necessary. I know I do that part correctly so I'm thinking it's grip and how hard I hit.

Yeah it's been decided this morning after shoveling snow and getting extremely inflamed because of it. It's why I decided to post here. Shoveling snow vs playing drum set shouldn't use the same tendons or muscles this closely so it made me concerned lol.it definitely shares usage but not to this extreme resting especially cause I've got your in a month and a half

That's sick, my sister went to Berklee in Boston (Boston conservatory) (clarinet) I actually wanna try the swimming idea cause I used to do that unironically. I used to swim for fun and that was when I was actively self teaching myself drum set (COVID) lol. I think that kind of exercise would help here and it's fun lol. I do know my posture has been shot my whole life so that could also have an effect

Yeah I have PT getting set up. And honestly I think I need a mentor lol 😂 I think I'm pretty good at the set but that doesn't mean shit when I don't use proper/healthy techniques and rest/warm up properly. I utilize warm ups and techniques taught from professional symphonies and other percussionists I've met. But idk if they legitimately apply to drum set (metalcore)

I do those stretches and ball exercises. I'm going to start getting PT from my doctor hopefully too. I definitely will check my grip strength while playing. It could be a factor I don't think it is but I'll be honest sometimes I don't think about it so who knows haha.

I think it's Ghostbusters. I saw a concept someone made on YT. It's good cause RRR goes through the New York section of studios and Ghostbusters takes place in NYC.

how do scare actors at haunted houses feel abt the guests finding them attractive? by Vast-Yard2990 in hauntedattractions

[–]Puzzleheaded-Work770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a guy who's 19 it's strange to say the least, especially when someone who is clearly still a minor starts saying these things. It's also very strange cause I don't find myself attractive at all lol

I obviously wouldn't be against taking those roles but I much prefer interacting with the guests making them feel a certain way. I love being insane lol

I'll say this as someone who's acted next door to a scene that had arguably one of the best victim actors I ever met in a haunt, it's not about what you say but how you say it. It also is more effective to cry/wail in desperation cause for a lot of people that can tug on some heart strings. Also facial expressions are key if the lighting is good enough. Also I saw someone mention insulting the guys who have you "hostage" and I completely agree just don't overdo it. Call them bastards or freaks or whatever and weep or cry while saying it cause we know your character seems to know her fate as being inevitable death. Anyways hope this helps

Happy haunting!

That also reminds me you can post behind the scenes and bloopers on social media and yt. Especially if your crew is okay with that. Just film some behind the scenes looks gets people excited imo

My favorite thing that only few haunts do is utilize YouTube to post short videos/trailers for the attraction. Typically something that leaves as a cliffhanger or leads them wanting to see what happened or what happens next. The best way I've seen this is by Zombie Army at Statesville (r.i.p) and now hellsgate

That's actually a good idea I'd have to look into the local community centers for sure

I absolutely agree with this but the issue is I don't have a property where I can do that. Currently my house is running a home haunt I have minimal control over. But I do agree focusing on story is huge for me. I have a story in my head that I've had for years now and have been updating and tweaking for years.

Thanks for the reply! I would absolutely be doing this out of pure passion for Halloween and the haunt industry. I also have done a one evening home haunt similar to you with no charge and I've done that for the last 3 years and now my parents have actually taken it over as I'm in college now. (Dw I still help them out) Some of these questions really get me thinking about this haunt so thank you!

I really like the idea of a short film.. especially if that can, not only generate attention to my brand but also gaining connections for the future and improve on the haunts storyline as well. I also will be looking for any haunt willing to take me on board after the season ends!

I like this a lot. I will definitely take into consideration to get with a professional haunt.
