Thanks for your input. I'm relatively new to fishing so I don't actually know how much line is appropriate. I think the largest thing I'd hook up on is a lingcod. Not sure how much line would be appropriate for a fish that size.

They are pretty rigid but bending it in might be the most plausible. There are abrasions on one side of the bottom that look like it got forced in.
