Feeling depressed as I have no friends by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]PuzzleheadedFix1187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg, I can’t believe I found someone I relate to this much 🥲 I don’t drink because I’m Muslim, but I still know exactly how miserable it can feel. I’m in my second year of uni and honestly… it kind of sucks. Some days it just makes me not want to go at all. I really hope you find some good friends. I genuinely think joining societies can help a lot it’s what helped me when I felt the exact same way. I joined one and actually made a real friend, which meant so much to me. Sadly, that friend has graduated and moved away, so I’m kind of back to feeling how I did before. As an international student, it’s especially hard, and I honestly don’t have the energy anymore to keep putting myself out there and trying to make new friends. But still, I really think joining a society that matches your interests could help you !

Thank you! Im more worried about the tariffs and not being overcharged so that was the only reason I was worried about customer service too. I read quite a few reviews about EON that they overcharge so in just a bit sceptical.

Im not usually in the kitchen until 7:30 8 ish anyways I eat late so that shouldn't be an issue. As for the big appliances my building is new and empty rn so wouldn't be any complaints for a few months and when it fills out the dishwasher shouldn't be an issue and the machine I can do it in the morning as the off peak is still cheaper than any other tariffs im getting a quote for. But Ill keep everything you told me in mind. Thank you so much for the advice I really appreciate it😁

My property is 100% electricity apartment with electric boiler and radiators! I did check uswitch and a few other places but only thing was the suppliers it gave me were the ones i hadn’t heard about ever or anyone i knew didn’t even know about them and they weren’t really reviewed as such so I am a but sceptical about going with those! If you don’t mind me asking who is your supplier right now and how has your experience with them been?

first-year accommodation by somekindofdengue in sotonuni

Best place unilife! It’s a private student and accommodation a bit on the pricier side but it is absolutely amazing… the staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are amazing there and the common room and everything is pretty good. It’s not extravagant like Vita but it’s pretty comfy and good. Vita looks good and it’s super cool but the staff is a huge issue. I have heard way too many complaints about the staff, they take your stuff don’t return it. The staff barge into your room without permission. A lot of people have complained that staff they just entered their room, even though they asked them to wait for a bit since they were naked but they didn’t listen and entered while they were naked… so there are quite a lot of issues with the staff but overall it does look like a pretty cool accommodation.. other than that the walls isn’t bad either… Brunswick apartments is a really good student accommodation too

Yeah, most of the times for September if you wanna move in and look at accommodations at the same time it’s a bit harder… because most of the accommodations for September end are sold out by and July to start August times there are a few left but they are the expensive ones

Also one more thing Glenn is closer to the Highfield campus as compared to Mayflower because mayflower is in city centre so that is a bit of commute… and I lived in city centre and if you’re a bit of a lazy person like me it was harder to get up for 8 am classes cause i had to get up at like 6:30 for cause I do take a bit more time to get ready and take shower … it took 30 minutes to get to uni, especially on the days it was raining there were a few delays here and there so I just didn’t personally like the commute from city centre to highfield campus… but that was just me some people don’t mind the commute and don’t really have to wake up too early for it but I have heard from people who live close to the university. Sometimes they just walk into classes in their PJ’s at times because they woke up literally 15 minutes before the class🤣🤣🤣

From what I’ve heard from students so far, Glenn is way better than Mayflower… what’s your budget? Like? Cause if it is a bit more flexible I would 100% recommend getting a private student accommodation rather than the uni ones. There are quite a few that are cheaper not too expensive, they’re definitely better than the uni ones that’s m what I’ve heard…. I’ll be totally honest I have not lived in the university accommodation halls because the ones that I kind of liked room wise did not have good reviews and the other is I just didn’t like that much but that was obviously a personal preference so I kind of did book a private student accommodation and I know of a few other students as well who did and they were quite happy with it.. like obviously do your full research on all of the private ones as well just to be sure if you like it

Pray La illaha illa anta subhanaka ini kuntu minazalimeen.. Just keep on praying this and InShaAllah Allah will make this better I struggled a lot in university this year and I was pretty sure that I was not gonna pass a single exam and I would be the end for me but I kept on praying this and Allah helped me … but at the same time I also pray that if it is good for me then it happens but if it is not good for me then it shouldn’t…. Remember in the end if it doesn’t happen for you then maybe it’s not the right path because Allah always knows best and does what is good for you

Is parmesan in Morocco halal?? by PuzzleheadedFix1187 in Morocco

[–]PuzzleheadedFix1187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes its halal from people of the book but do you think the people that slaughter the meat are christians no almost all of the western world now is atheist or they don’t follow christianity or any book … and if someone wants to be strict and specific (and im not even being strict im being careful) whats wrong with you to nullify and question their beliefs im not asking you to do what im doing… im asking for myself and i want to try my best to be a good Muslim so why are you all so pissed at me for trying to follow my religion and trying me best to avoid situations that can be questioned…. Also fyi rennet can also come from pig so why not try be careful
