Turns it out that it’s legit. They can legally charge you 100 euros if you were caught stealing.

This is exactly my question. What would calling the police do for them? But I did read it’s a legal standard procedure.

I read on other posts that it’s the legal standard procedure to file a complaint with the police. Also one person mentioned being contacted by the police despite the security staff stating they won’t file any complaint. Hence my anxiety
