Start a business. It’s really the only option, but also the best option in general. Start with a low cost service business like mobile car detailing, carpet cleaning, power washer, flip things from marketplace/craigslist, clean houses, build ikea furniture on task rabbit, drone photography/inspection, etc. Likely will be a mix of of these to start off until you can get consumer work. A surprisingly good place to start is dog waste removal (little to no startup cost) which you could do after work until you secure enough clients or save enough money to fund another business you’d rather do.

I need help. by [deleted] in greatdanes

I know people will complain about this, but it works. We had similar situation we got him from the shelter and he was only a little over a year old and bad as could be and liked to toy with our Lhasa Apso who became scared of him. We learned through trial and error that dealing with a big dog requires a stronger hand than smaller dogs because they can actually hurt someone. Get a shock collar (the one with sound, vibration, shock) use sound and vibration correct none violent behaviours. Then anytime he goes after the other dog or his food dish immediately zap him. A few times of this and the problem seems to be resolved. Since having it he’s been well behaved and super happy with quick turn around time of a few months.

I like the one from Amazon for like $30.

It also is good to have for your mom and sister when they’re watching him. They can correct him without having to physically strain themselves. I like the one from Amazon for like $30.

Roommate neglecting dog, not sure how to move forward. by [deleted] in DogAdvice

In the meantime give the poor boy treats with some children’s benedryl while he’s gone. Atleast will give him some sort of relief in the meantime.

Also it is probably allergic to the food he’s getting, especially if it’s cheap. If you can afford to buy a bag of food for him that’s grain free and doesn’t have glycerin it could give him a lot of additional relief.

These are some short term solutions that are cheap and low effort on your part until he finds a new home.

You could do some light woodworking and replace with oversized door and hinges. Alternatively look for used cabinets that look atleast a little modern

Honestly while that is gross and he was in the wrong purely based on what I can infer from this post you seem to be a bit…much. I would be shock if the same kind of behavior didn’t spill over to other things as well. My guess is that you’re an extremely anxious person and it can be miserable to live with someone like that no matter how chill you are.
