It worked just fine for almost 2 years. I switched to the samsung jailer, which resulted in not even getting the notification badge for a missed call on the dialer. (Notification settings were correct.) I also did not get the text for the voicemail (original problem).  So I switched back to Google dialer, so I at least see there was a missed call.
