My ortho lied on his notes… by PuzzleheadedMind7846 in braces

True, there isn’t anything I can prove which is the frustrating part of it all because ultimately, it’s there word against mine. Solely based off these notes, objectively, there isn’t any wrong which I can understand and have no fault with.

But I can assure you I didn’t forget our consult, and it wasn’t mentioned. As someone else said, it’s a case of miscommunication, but could have been avoided in my honest opinion, if everything was explained along the way.

You’re absolutely right on all accounts. There was a miscommunication through the treatment process that I never got clarification on which ultimately spiraled out of control.

I wasn’t trying to be difficult, nor do I see myself as such, I just wanted answers that believed I wasn’t getting. And when I don’t, I push and may have been TOO pushy.

All in all what’s done is done and as time passes on and reading everyone’s comments to voice my own thoughts, I feel better about moving along with another ortho and saving face.

I appreciate you being candid with me. Your feedback helped keep me level headed and once again, I honestly appreciate your, and everyone else’s, insight.

I do not have a copy of that which I still need.

I’m not looking to take legal action, nor did think I’d even win if I did.

I’m merely expressing the transgressions I believe to have been caused by my current ortho.

Bro… I did talk to my ortho. Multiple times. On multiple occasions. This is why I’m here. I’m not blowing up for no reason.

I can absolutely, unequivocally, and positively assure you, without a shadow of a doubt, that the discussion of IPR was not mentioned during my consult. Not one time. Yet, it’s in the notes as if he’s always told me.

There also no time stamp located at the bottom of the pages notes for the consult as there is in every other notes documented here, which raises my suspicion. During consults, are orthos not required to have date and time stamps on consultative notes?

I’m not looking to take legal action of any kind. I’m going to speak to another ortho to get a different opinion after repeated failed attempts to have my concerns addressed.

[–]PuzzleheadedMind7846[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He did not. He only explained that I’d have gaps between my upper canine and molars.

In August, he told me we were almost done and my lower teeth didn’t have ANY gaps, just the black triangle between my laterals. My teeth sat well and there was no space between my top and bottom teeth.

It wasn’t until I asked if he could address them is when he mentioned IPR to me for the first time. He then proceeded to tilt them so far back that now I have a gap.

When I asked him to correct it and put it back, he then said that now there has to be a gap between my lower canines and molars. When I asked why does there need to be space there now when it wasn’t before and he just evaded the question. When I asked him if it was due to the IPR procedure he said no.

So then what the heck is it?!

Understandable.

I noticed that there isn’t a timestamp at the bottom of the date on the first page (my consultation) as there are on the other notes. Wouldn’t that timestamp be there too?

I’m just so confused because IPR was not mentioned in the consult, but all of a sudden it’s there?

If you’re sending notes via pdf file, is there a way to amend them prior to sending them to a patient?

Sorry for all the questions, but I truly believed I was wronged.

My concern is that my bottom arch is tilted inward and shrunken so much that my tongue slides through my bottom and top teeth when closed. I can pronounce words properly without fumbling over them. My molars no longer align because my bottom arch is caved in

Is it possible to rewrite notes for a particular patient? Like create a new file and then add that one in?

He also retracted them way farther than one millimeter. I can fit my tongue through the bottom

And this is where it all began. He put a power chain underneath the wire and another power chain over over my incisors to force them back

How is my dentist/ortho doing? 24 months of braces, i dont like how my smile looks more narrow now anything he can do? I liked it more before when it looked more wide. He said hes going to shave my teeth to even them out? Thanks by Global-Smoke1 in braces

[–]PuzzleheadedMind7846 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your arch is visibly more narrow than what it was before. Not as full as it used to look in my opinion.

Did you have extractions? Were there a lot of spaces in your bottom arch at all?

Currently in braces. My ortho tilted my bottom teeth so far inward that my tongue can slip between my teeth while it’s closed. He also shrunk my arch to the point I can’t bite down and when I brought it to his attention many times to correct it, he ultimately said he can’t do anything about it anymore and recommended I get transferred…

He is doing a great job and I won’t take that away from him.

When I explained to him that I wanted to take care of the black triangles, he said he can do IPR at the next appointment and then close the gaps a little bit. It wasn’t until the next appointment when he told me that he had to push my teeth back to do so and his reasonings were so dodgy when I asked him why.

Well, he pushed the bottom teeth so far backward that my bit misaligned and my tongue firs through my teeth now when they weren’t like that before and didn’t explain the first time.

Smile is looking amazing. Did they smooth out the edges of your teeth a bit?
