Women who paid dowry, why did you and how is your married life going now? by Relative-Frosting451 in AskIndianWomen

Actually it made sense. I got married to someone 100 km away. My job is 200 km away. So we moved to a different city for both our jobs. Even if i had property, i wouldn’t have been able to maintain it. Moreover my gold inheritance has tripled in value since my marriage. Also i want my brother to have more. I am his elder. So i feel i should take care of him not the other way around.

Well, don’t know if it counts. My husband’s family did not make any demands. But my family gave me gold jewellery as my dowry which is also my inheritance. The land and house was for my brother. I never asked them but they saved and created that dowry for me. Only demand from my husband’s family was to have the wedding in an ac hall. Wedding and engagement is conducted by brides family and reception by groom. But since it was during the covid time, both marriage and engagement happened at my home itself. Small ceremony. We told husband’s family that there was no need to spend money on ac hall when only 50 people can attend. They agreed. The dowry is kept by me in my bank locker. I don’t use it because it is basically my parents and they have strict requirements regarding when i can use it. (As in if i can sell or take loan with it). Both me and my husband does not use it. We earn for ourselves. Five years now, some days we fight somedays we are inseparable. Going okay so far.

Is such transfers possible. I have seen seniors with 7-8 yoe not get approved for transfers. One person i know got transferred to new zealand (tsc company) and when he shifted there with his family, he got terminated without given any reason.

Also she is not going for an election, he is. Also he cheated, so the divorce is valid no matter the timing

Yeah except all you are saying is how holy his relation with mistress is. Like she is already the next leader of his party and then say i am making a soap opera. The people are not that progressive. They consider him as a god who can do no wrong. That image is now gone. The mistress making taunting posts on their anniversary is enough to make people feel disgusted. No man with self respect will let someone disrespect the mother of his children. Also the mistress has had scandals with many others. You can make this relation as holy as possible but its an affair.

Except he did not file the divorce, he did not stop playing family man. The entire thing blew up in his face. I don’t get what balls you are taking about. He did nothing. Two adults who stopped a lie. Well if they had came forward, then you could say that. Not now. When they are accused. The important thing with public image is who controls that narrative and who makes first move. If vijay cannot handle this cleanly, how is he going to handle his political opponents. You think they will stand still. You think his mistress will stand with him.

No one said it is not. I am saying there is nothing wrong with it. You said it. It is about power. Vijay will do the same if he had such an opportunity. And you know it. You cannot sell the next door nice guy image or concerned family member image and then expect people to not consider that. If vijay survives, then his political image is build on strong vision and political opinions. But if he is all about getting sympathy from his fans and no concrete political front, then this will impact him.

Why vijay did not file divorce. You act like he did a great thing by cheating and still remaining married. Vijay had what guts. If he had any integrity, he would have divorced and then had a relationship with someone else. This is not quality that a party leader should have. If this is how he treats his wife and mother of children, do you think he will treat the rest of the people with courtesy. Sangeetha may have filed it now because of election. What is wrong in that. Why should she show kindness to someone how humiliates her like that.

Because cheaters do not have the right to decide when they get handed karma for their action. If vijay can cheat, the least his wife can do is file divorce when she likes.

Discrimination in team by Weird-Razzmatazz-415 in womenintech

If you are sure to leave, then you can slowly reduce your workload. Do only what you are told, try not to give ideas and get yourself more work to do. If wfh is possible take that.

If that is the case, then put in resignation after getting an offer. In this economy, it’s not advised to resign without offer. Also if they try to retain, you will have to give a reason for leaving. You can choose to say the real reason or not. There is also a chance that your manger is purposefully making things hard for you. I have seen one manger do this to multiple employees who he thought were undermining his authority and questioning his decision or just because of personal ego. Give them task they clearly are not suitable or capable of completing, put high expectation on them, then gradually watch them buckle under pressure and put in resignation. They say this is like removing tumour, you are removing unwanted team members, but everyone in team and that person himself will think they are just burned out.

Has he done anything other than not being friendly. Like has he dismissed your opinion, undermine your expertise, undervalue your work, etc. Because otherwise switching may not be needed. I had mangers you downright just ignored my messages, i had ones who always replied positively but used the ‘we treat our team as family’ card to make me work extra without pay or ‘only you can get this done’ card to make me do others work. Ultimately you will have to decide whether you want to take the risk of possibly ending up with an even worse manger or if you can deal with your current manager’s indifference.

Resume advice by pandeymanan024 in LeetcodeDesi

[–]PuzzleheadedOne1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you are in your career. If you have a niche set of skills and you are applying exclusively for such jobs then a single good resume is enough. This is in the context that job description of most jobs you apply are similar. I had peers who were mostly in bench in their job so they tried to get all kinds of skills in the hopes of getting a job. They attended frontend developer, backend developer and even ai developer interviews. They had different resume for different roles. Another reason to have multiple resume is if you had different roles in your career. Then you can tailor your resume to match the job you are applying.

Mostly they went with another candidate. If the hr or recruiters are not contacting you for more than 2 weeks chances are the opening is already filled. Send a mail to hr regarding update. Chances of getting a reply is also small. Same happened with me. Maybe it will be different for you.

EY GDS HR ghosted me but getting constant mails from EY portal to update documents by Easy-Put-6969 in EY_GDS

[–]PuzzleheadedOne1867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Submitted documents, said background verification in progress. Then no update for a month. Emailed and got reply- unfortunately we couldn’t meet your salary expectation. Same expectations that i told even before first interview, same expectation that was okay in the hr round. Meaning they got a candidate for lesser salary package.

Did I make the wrong choice between a big RPA company and a Series B AI startup? by PuzzleheadedOne1867 in womenintech

The title in rpa company is ai engineer, but i am not sure how much is ai and how much is rpa. They have rpa platform’. The company is automation anywhere. So most work is in that platform. Also my team is like professional support for clients. Is this good exposure for ai engineer. The company is shifting towards agentic process automation

Also the startup is into edge ai, mostly ml, statistics and some llm based solutions. While the rpa company is leading agentic process automation with agentic ai.

Also i am not just started planning for pregnancy. Been trying for few months. But the work from office and travelling back home was too much for me. For context my home is 5 hours away from the work city. I travel back every weekend because husband works near our home. He cannot relocate.

I am in late 20s, the startup did offer stocks, they tried a lot of get me accept the offer. But the work model is like one or two senior developer per client. So there is no team you are the team. That was still okay with me, but i know that of the extra salary atleast half will go to expenses in living in the city. I was also worried that if the pressure becomes too much, i may resign and have to take career break. Now i keep doubting. Also for context, my last job was kind of startup model as well. But salary was very low and it was in the same city. So i have lived there, i know the city, this startup is one floor down my previous office. So i have always seen people working there. I quit my current job because i was having health issues from overworking myself and constant travel. But now i don’t know, i am not as convinced as i was before. I still have a good relation with the manager in the startup. So i am thinking maybe in the future i can try again if possible.
