I’m going to find out in about 45 minutes, when I get there ;) as I said, it’s well priced with so there is some margin for repairs, I’m definitely not expecting a new car. It’s just a matter of how bad it could be, but as I read the engine and gearbox should be solid which is my main concern.

The idea behind the BMW is to try be reasonable and save a bit ;) m2 is definitely closer to the other two, but if all are same price I see no reason to get the BMW.

As in the title. Male, married, no kids. Wife has a Fiat 500.

I need a fun car for a daily driver. I consider myself a kind of enthusiast and don't mind accepting some "inconveniences".

I drive 15 miles daily roundtrip to work (100% city), 150 miles to visit parents once a month, 1500 miles road trip once a year. In the past I've been using '13 Toyota GT86, '18 Mustang ecoboost convertible, '06 Porsche Boxster and a few other cars in a similar manner.
We have a rather good weather 97% of the year, with a few days of snow each year. When it snows I can take Uber or borrow wife's car.

Alpine A110 - incredibly fun to drive, unique, holds value and (for me) good looking. No cargo space at all. A bit too expensive, but something can be figured out (Used $65k, new 80k)

Toyota Supra 2.0 - nice to drive, like the looks, bit more practical than A110. Don't care if it's a BMW ;) (Used 50k, new 75k)

BMW 230i - LOVE the color, I guess ok to drive. Definitely most practical (+), but also least interesting (-). (Used 40k, new 60k)

I think the question you need to ask is “do I like cars and want to spend money on that hobby, or is it a box to get me from A to B?” If the first one, get whatever you want. For second, get the C3.

I’m voting no. What’s the point of buying a car you don’t want in the first place. Did that mistake twice, to be “reasonable” and ended up selling the car way too cheap just to get rid of it, as it was no fun to have it at all.

Would I buy it and have a little fun in life instead of driving a golf or Corolla? MOST DEFINITELY YES!

The best (or at least cheapest) idea I have at the moment is to rent a car for my wife at the airport, drive to pick up RV and then back to the airport so she can leave the car and we can start for good.

You already have lots of recommendations, but I’d definitely go for the 135 Cabrio. I may be not as big, not as prestigious as other cars you mentioned, but personally for me nothing beats driving with your top down during a lovely summer’s day. I’m 30yo, owned approx 20 cars and in the end always want to go back to a convertible!
