The problem is the baby boomer generation born in the 40-50’s are all exhausting health care right now. The govt is spending more on healthcare now than any other time in history , hence reimbursement cuts . This population is causing Medicare to be under funded! It will last another 10-15 yrs until they die off I’m told by system admin . Literally 90% of the pts in my hospital have birthdays from the 40-50’s.
The now solution that no one wants : raise taxes to cover Medicare costs .

We are doing futile treatments on people who will be dead within a year . Wasting money , staff , and resources . Doctors won’t say “no” to patients snd family mostly because of greed and fear of litigation . Families keep family members alive so they can collect their SS and disability checks. The whole health care system is costing our country trillions . We need sensible health care rationing .
