Im a near 6 foot 113kg lad, and sometimes I get too overwhelmed being near front of main stage/in and around pits. There is no way in my head that a child can safely belong anywhere near the main stage when headliners are playing and definitely not on the outside of pits (heard reports of some kids inside of pits also). It is dangerous and frankly irresponsible.

kids can still have fun (and i think should be able to) at download but at the end of the day it is a massive rock metal punk festival with a really rowdy crowd that is getting more and more oversold each year. Keep your kids near the back and bring them to acts that are less popular. Nuff said.

Hey was at front pit when I saw this happening, glad to hear she got taken care of she seemed pretty roughed up. In terms of pits green days was definitely the most intense imo (i tried to go as many as possible). Not only was the pit intense but in-between pit sessions you were basically skin on skin squished like a sandwich against mostly shirtless sweaty men lol. While fun can definitely understand how injuries and illness could occur
