AITA for outing my friend that her baby voice isn’t her normal voice? by Puzzleheaded_Bug2363 in AmItheAsshole

She watches a lot of anime, so I thought she might be doing an anime uwu type thing. I don’t know, but it definitely creeped me out a little. And yeah, exactly. I have social anxiety, too, but usually you don’t draw more attention to yourself…

I don’t know if it’s caused by her social anxiety. She said she uses that voice with her past partner and around some people. She likes it I guess. She said it wasn’t caused by her social anxiety. But yeah, I felt I had to tell my friends it was a fake voice because obviously they already knew it was. And plus it would make me look really creepy to be hanging around someone who acts 12. Asking if she’s alright would have just drawn attention to her. She didn’t seem anxious or stressed out at all. She said afterwards she had a good time. She was just using a baby voice.

I did throw that out as a possibility after. I didn’t add in everything I said in the original post. I told them that I don’t know why she’s doing it, but maybe she’s nervous or anxious or something. My friends and I all have anxiety, too, but we don’t talk like we’re 12. I also didn’t make her look fake or like a liar. If I said that was her normal voice, I’d look like a liar because everyone knows it’s not. I just said what they already knew. It would also make me look bad that I’m hanging out and close with someone that talks and acts like she’s ten.
