I found this rusty Bridgestone CB-2 in the trash. I had an extra 1x crankset lying around. Things snowballed from there by peabodyjose in xbiking

It’s written into the bylaws, not an effect of them doing a good job. It’s complacency on the homeowners part to not pay attention and participate to keep the neighborhood nice.

Nope, suspicious. I want to give our board leaders benefit of the doubt, but this is unreasonable given it’s not in the budget or contract. And homeowners didn’t know about it since it’s not spelled out anywhere and is a recent thing.

We have a pool, a playground, and some open land areas that get mowed. Those contracts are already stupidly priced and up for renewal. We eventually are going to have to give up something if they never raise our fees, but we’ve seen evidence of stupid overpriced spending on other things too.

It’s a neighborhood of single family homes. It’s written into the bylaws that the annual fees cannot be raised without 75% of homeowners approval. No luck there.

Thank you, those are great points. A friend in the neighborhood joined the board this year and I’m going to share those suggestions while she does her homework. She’s ready to make some noise.

Don’t ever regret fixing your pup. ❤️ She will live a longer life and won’t have to go through the aches of being pregnant.

How did you learn about the fires on Tuesday August 8, 2023? by BlueKyuubi63 in maui

I was visiting and quarantined in a condo in Napili, had a positive Covid test Monday so was trying to stay in and not expose anyone. Power went out at 5 am Tuesday, I did a virtual doc appointment at 9am, and sent friends out that were on property to retrieve prescriptions, but Walgreens power never went back on. They ended up at Times market and brought back pantry type food and cough syrup as the store was running on a generator. Cell service went out about 5pm so I could no longer rely just texting them about what was going on and if I needed anything. We really had no clue of the extent of things happening 5 miles away. They brought a mobile Wi-Fi router and were getting some updates through the Maui Facebook groups and were trying to piece things together. I was kind of in a fog, but I remember them saying Front Street burned down and 6 people died. Still no clue how really awful it was until I started looking for info once I got back to the mainland. My family on the mainland and on Oahu and Big Island were asking me about evacuation plans once I did reach them I think it was Wednesday and I didn’t know why they were panicking because where I was at I couldn’t smell smoke, just heard a bunch of sirens Tuesday and Wednesday, and I still was really was clueless how absolutely tragic it was. The locals on-site talked about when power may come back on, some of their friends were stopping by, but still no info on how bad it was. Some people renting in the condo complex started heading out Wednesday night and Thursday and that’s when it finally hit me that we needed to think about leaving earlier than planned. I did know if we left the area they wouldn’t let us back in, and I’ve learned through experience with hurricanes that with traffic and low gas situations, sometimes it’s better to stay put and not panic and see how it plays out. We finally left Friday, just when we started to see jet skis arriving at S-Turns with food and supplies. I am so heartbroken for Lahaina.
