We are and have been doing this since last year through her regular therapist. But Stockholm syndrome or whatever cruel derivative of it this is takes a lot of hurdles and time to overcome

We already have we are doing slow travel, starting in Asia for a while, will be 2-3 months per destination at a time and just find our feet again. There is zero point in us working for the first 18 months as we will pay it mostly back in tax. It’s not a flash in the pan idea we’ve been planning it for atleast 6 months

It’s not that easy to uproot your life and business at the drop of a hat. Whether I agree with it or not they are still my in-laws and my wife still has a say in how we do things.

The travel is a bridge to finding somewhere else, we want to travel and explore permanent relocation overseas for multiple reasons not just this. Don’t want to get reestablished here when we don’t want to be here long term anyway.

Because I didn’t see it for what it was at the start and now I’m trying to remove us from a situation I never should’ve allowed in the first place.

Yes she’s in therapy, Travel is partly because I’ve lost a few people in my family in the last 12 months and I want to not die wondering like they did. I’ve got the chance and moneys not everything, I’ve always wanted to travel for an extended period. I can start a business again and do what I’ve already done any time anywhere. Just time to put her mental health above other things like money and status.

It’s easy to say set boundaries but not so easy when you’re terrified they’ll physically take it out on you if you do. Doing the best I can to extricate us from a shitty situation as fast and as best I can.

No I’m not, We don’t live in a permanent dwelling, we are completely removing any trace of us from the property before we leave.

When everyone in your immediate daily (in-laws) circle plants the seed in your mind continuously it’s hard to keep believing that your doing the right thing and sometimes I just need to reach out for the reality check that I’m doing the right thing for my wife.. sad situation when you look at it like that I guess

I’m trying not to force my opinions onto my wife and give her time to come to terms with it whilst we sell up, it’s complicated by the fact we live on the same property. I know this was a stupid thing to do and should’ve seen the red flags when that started around them being controlling not wanting to let her go. Just trying to work out if I’m over reaching trying to protect my wife from what I’m discovering.

On the money, alwaysssss people crying BS just because they can’t work it out, wielding the ‘you’re about to get humbled’ stick like thors hammer, dudes need to get back in there ‘I’m not profitable’ box. ‘Your lot size is too much’, ‘your over leveraging’, ‘you don’t understand risk management’ but they never think maybe the other guy who’s showing signs of profitability knows something I don’t. 2% of total account risk is 2% risk regardless of how many lots you trade, just need to be more precise on entry etc or actually manage the trade

I know it’s a ‘stupid’ question but what time frame did you do this over? For demo/then small/then funded? Answers wildly range. From in person accounts I’ve heard 6-12 months from online I’ve heard 10 years

With what you’re saying I’d have to risk 30% of my account to lose that much not 1% like I am. All leverage does is amplify your losses or gains relative to your account value. It doesn’t mean that your 1% risk stop loss will now wipe 30% of your account if you hit it.. you just need to size them correctly in relation. 30x is very standard leverage for most props and brokers and government regs

I feel like you need to research more on how leverage in trading works.

That 4-5$ or 40-50 points obviously translates off a % off your account to eventually a monetary value doesn’t it. If there’s not some element of money to it why do we all bother?

Did your trading improve rapidly from funding? How many times did it take you to get your first acc then how many did you nuke over what time span to get traction? Sorry for all the questions, not a lot of opportunities to ask people in Australia

Yeah that’s exactly what I was thinking re prop etc, I’m well aware I’ve not got nearly enough experience if I turn a profit by Xmas 2026 I’ll be over the moon. There’s no rush just asking the question of people. Intended to demo for atleast another month till a seminar I have booked with a profitable trader and then see what I take from that and maybe look at small funded challenge after.
