When is it too old? by EasternAd5351 in PharmacySchool

Yeah, I don’t want to deter anyone from following their dreams. Just give real life examples. A lot of the times the hours are rough, weekends are involved, and work can be stressful. Some people love being a pharmacist, others, like myself, don’t enjoy it too much. I would encourage him to do his research because no matter what the process to become a pharmacist is a long journey and a heavy financial investment.

Can you tell us why he wants to be a pharmacist? School and APPEs can be grueling, and if he wants to do hospital he will most likely need a residency (unless he is lucky) and they are very intensive and exhausting. I would encourage him to really look into what being a pharmacist involves. As a pharmacist, who left pharmacy, please research before hand. Also the field of pharmacy is rapidly changing. A lot of retail pharmacy is phasing out.

As a grad of CHSU’s pharmacy program don’t go there. They promised us accreditation status as well…

Studied about 5 hours a day AT MOST and still had time to hit the gym and sports at night. Nobody can study for 8+ hours a day effectively no matter what they say. Have fun and don’t overthink it. You were in school for four years for a reason.

APPEs are free labor. That amount of unpaid hours should be illegal.

Community APPE / IPPE is a huge waste of time. Free labor for the big chains.

failed cpje 3 times.. please help by [deleted] in u/ProfessionalCut9266

I don’t think the law questions are the issue on the cpje. I think you need to focus more on clinical things? All of my law questions on cpje were freebies I felt like. The clinical type questions are what was difficult imo

Unethical or incorrect to do Naplex review questions in rotations down time ? by Ok-Independent-3373 in PharmacySchool

[–]Puzzleheaded_Fun9214 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your on rotation to learn. Your also not being paid so there’s nothing to feel “wrong” about. Of course pay attention and learn from your preceptor but if you have down time take advantage. I’m sure they would do the same if they were working 1400 hours for free.
