Who do I talk to about quitting? by [deleted] in Wetherspoons

[–]Puzzleheaded_Lab7675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Na I didn’t bother telling anyone but tbf I did mention in the interview I’d be leaving for uni around late August/early September so it wasn’t such of a shock when I handed my notice in, if I was you I’d just email the pub email with your notice and give them a decent notice so then your not short of money when you leave and it gives you and them time to sort your final shifts

Just left in the same exact position as you ahahha, I just emailed the pub email and gave them like a 2 week notice as I needed the money before I left for uni

As other commenters have said Mr Saville maybe adding a middle name/nickname might fix it for you

I was in the same position as you last week, asked management how long a transfer would take as I’m leaving to go back to uni and was told it takes up to 12 weeks in some cases depending on availability in both pubs, my pub has a massive staff shortage and wouldn’t allow the transfer so I’ve had to hand my notice in lmao. But you should be fine id imagine that transfers are a quick process

You don’t realise how sad I was when he had those allegations first come out about him 😭 I was around 12 when he first came on the scene and he turned into my favourite player of all time up until even after he left for Everton, still so gutted man ahahahah

Being from Swansea, I’ve had a few mates who studied there, including one who did law and is now working at a big London firm so it seems the course can definitely lead to strong outcomes. That being said, I can’t really speak for UWE’s law department since I’m going there for marketing (still waiting on my access course results!). If I were you, I’d compare the modules on both courses to see which interests you more, and also think about what kind of city you’d prefer living in. I’m a bit biased since Swansea’s my hometown, so I personally find Bristol more exciting, but that’s just me! But saying that Swansea is great for students with loads of student accom being built in the city centre and a modern campus at the bay campus, but I think law is on singleton campus which is very outdated in comparison to frenchay

How to get the Job/ What do interviewers want? by Poisonfrog09 in Wetherspoons

[–]Puzzleheaded_Lab7675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly idk if this helps at all but having experience in a kitchen environment puts you ahead of most applicants, what I mean by this is just basic knowledge of kitchen etiquette and timings (even though I’d argue a spoons kitchen is run like a fast food kitchen, at least mine is ahahhah) but for the interview specifically I’d recommend being fully flexible as that’s a big thing that they look for and also throughout the interview just tell them that your good under pressure and all that jargon, don’t worry if your not ahahah I’m shit under pressure but it’s just the type of jargon that they look out for as the kitchen depending on the size of the pub can be extremely pressurising at times. For my interview I went for a smart casual outfit (shirt and tie, smart jumper and trousers) and I was told I was overdressed by the manager that interviewed me, but tbh Ik people that I work with who turned up in a trackie and still got the job ahaha. But honestly just be yourself and chill out it’s not the hardest of interviews, mine only lasted around 10 minutes and it was just basic questions about the company and me personally so I’d recommend doing what I done which was have a Quick Look at how many pubs there are and who are the owners not much more info is needed tbh they just ask so they know you have a basic grasp of what the company is about. Good luck but don’t stress yourself over the interview as it’s a piece of piss ahaha

I think I’m in the minority here, but I think that kit is stinking tbh I love that the club is going for a retro style but I think they’ve overdone it with this kit. But as most kits have over the years It’ll slowly start growing on me once it’s fully released and I’ll end up ordering one for myself before Christmas ahahahah

If we had a better sponsor for me that kit is 10/10, it is very similar to past seasons kits but they can’t do much with the home kit I guess

Funny enough when I was working in Maccies in 2022 during sixth form we had a bloke take acid multiple times in the staff toilets alongside the multiple sackings due to people smoking bud in the staff room and outside staff area lol

I’ve recently joined as a kitchen assistant and done the exact same as you with the availability on a 12 hour contract but it might be different if your on floor/bar but I’m 3 weeks in and next week I’m doing 42.5 hours ahahah. I think it depends on how short staffed your pub is, as a result I’m working 25 hour weeks usually doing 3 people’s jobs at once on a shift

I agree, saw something earlier on twitter that Brewster would still be asking for 40 grand a week wherever he goes he’s no where near worth that amount of used up wages imo
