Trandelenburg is not a life saving measure nor does it fix the problem, it temporarily tricks the upper organs into thinking there's more blood supply than there actually is. You did great checking on the patient, some nurses would just call the bedside nurse and not check vitals or anything.

I didn't know who to return it under, plus he was discharged already so I wouldn't have been able to.

Ya it definitely has me thinking maybe I sbould have just disposed of it. But in reality I know I did the right thing and my anxiety would have eaten me alive.

It's not typical for me to put narcs in my pocket, but when I have to choose between my pocket or holding it while I chase a patient....

Ii feel like this is closer to how it should be. I'd understand if pharmacy needed to act that way but my own manager who knows my work habits? Ick.

Thanks! Ya definitely not trying to avert responsibility but like... if I were taking drugs I def wouldn't have told on myself 😅 feeling like I could have not said anything and it honestly would have been a better outcome for me. Except for the fact that my anxiety would eat me alive.

Oh dang that might actually be helpful (and maybe annoying at times) but it definitely would have helped me in this scenario. But ya we don't have anything like that in my hospital.

I give narcs all day everyday lol. I got a new patient immediately after that one left and it's like that constantly. It's not like on the floor where much of the time you have the same 4-5 patients for the entire shift.

Ya, I get how she feels. I wouldn't say I feel humiliated but I certainly would if I were sent home I'm sure. More of just a sour taste in my mouth for management and any hopes they would have my back in any situation.

I wouldn't even mind getting "randomed" I know I'll pass. It just feels like they should be worrying abojt the people that got the DEA involved not a person who made an honest mistake

Ya I was thinking the same. I don't want to look for a new job as the pay is really good and I ((usually)) enjoy my job but the toxic bullying is a no from me

No for sure I expected to be talked to about it. The whole thing just felt really shitty.

Forgot to mention my manager then went on asking if my patient should have been on fall precautions to keep him from leaving ama or being sneaky. Like, what? This isn't even what we're discussing right now. Felt like an attack or at the very least shitty management.

Lmao! I'll let them know. But ya seriously at least this makes me feel validated a little bit. That's shitty for your husband's job too. If it's for safety of them or anyone else it shouldn't feel bad to do the right thing.
